Never in my life have I EVER seen anything like this!

Andy and I went looking at houses w/ our boys over the weekend near our new base. We traveled 40 miles south near Truman  lake to look at an old farm house. As we were getting out of the car we heard a bunch of geese honking. I glanced up thinking I'd see a flock flying over.. WHAT A FLOCK! OMG! Totally blew me away!

The realtor's husband told us that this happens every year around this time. Crazy!

The pictures don't do it justice. There were thousands! They must have stretched out almost a mile!!! Too cool.

the geese you took pics of are SNOW GEESE. Yes, they fly in the thousands
Really neat to see all those geese in one flock
I hear they are overpopulated

We saw what I think were ducks, by the hundreds or even thousands, outside our school recently. The kids saw them and stopped playing and just stared for the entire time. I'm not sure which part was more facinating...the ducks or the quiet playground full of kids!

Another mom and I were waiting at the bus stop about two weeks ago with the kids and we saw what must've been thousands of blackbirds flying over. The line was so long it probably took 15 minutes for all of them to fly over. We were both getting the creeps having flashbacks of scary Alfred Hitchcock movies. We literally had goosebumps it was creeping us out so bad!!
Eye, I hope you and Andy find a wonderful home and I hope that things work out beautifully for you in your new location. It's great that cyberspace is everywhere and that you don't have to live in STL to blog on the website! I hope we don't lose you!

My husband and I have been married for 14 years, and have 3 boys. I work part time as a receptionist for a Chiropractor, and I have to say, I LOVE MY JOB! On my days off, I love hanging out at the river, and my new hobby fishing. I also sew on the side, odd jobs and such. I'm hoping to get back into crafting now that the kids are back in school.
