Sitting out in the back yard over the last week or so we've noticed hundreds of seed ticks.  They're falling out of the trees..  It's crazy!

I'm finding them crawling on me, I find them in the middle of the night, They're every where.  What's the deal?  I've never seen them this bad.

Is it the heat?  And by the way, has anyone else noticed there don't seem to be any mosquitoes right now?  Weird..

Take tape to remove the seedticks.Seed ticks caused my son to get really sick years ago.We haven't had much of anything this year. But I have been staying in also.Well I go out and water and sit on proch. But they snakes weren't even bad this year that I have noticed anyway. They do have sevin spray that is safe.My daughter sprayed her trees and yard as the grandbaby had a tick crawling on him one day.So far they haven't seen anymore.I hate seed ticks they are so darn tiny.Scotch tape anytape pickes them right off.Make sure you check the whole body also. They like to get in them warm places.

We haven`t had as much rain as usual which means that there isn`t as much standing water for mosquitos to breed in. And with the increase in the deer population there is also a corresponding increase in the tick population. I haven`t heard about many chiggers this year either, so maybe nature is going to be nice to us this year. But with these temperatures, I doubt that Mom Nature is really giving us much of a break.

Seed ticks like to go where the sun on't shine.

Be careful!

Read your thoughts on St. Louis. Sedalia, jefferson city, and columbia is a very delighful area to live. (I grew up in Jeff City) Have a great move..look forward to it..the people all over Missouri are the friendliest in the USA. The cost of living in Sedalia used to be lower than here so that is a plus if it still is.

Did you know that what is refered to as seed ticks are actually just newly hatched juveniles of the larger ticks you see.

My husband and I have been married for 14 years, and have 3 boys. I work part time as a receptionist for a Chiropractor, and I have to say, I LOVE MY JOB! On my days off, I love hanging out at the river, and my new hobby fishing. I also sew on the side, odd jobs and such. I'm hoping to get back into crafting now that the kids are back in school.
