Clean air and evironmental concern

It is time to think about the environment and cleaning the air.  We need to protect our rain forests.  Carpooling, and cycling are two great alternatives to Metro.  When it comes to tossing out the trash, recycling is good.  Some communites have curb side recycling where the company pulls up in a truck and takes the stuff to the recycling dump and the workers there seperate the stuff.  In the winter time, fireplace ash is aiso recyclable due to that you can dump it in the flower bed or scatter it on your lawn.  The ash is great food for your lawn and plants.  Trees also feed off of it as well.  Yard waste now gets hauled off to a mulching mill rather than winding up in a landfill.

Also consider "e-cycling" for broken electronics that you are no longer going to use. There are some free collection points during the year and there are also companies that will accept computer monitors, old computers, tvs, etc., and break them down for parts. Just google "e-cycle St Louis" and you'll find some places.

The lead content of LCD and plasma TVs is concerning. Many trashed LCD/plasma Tvs end up in Africa where children are hired take them apart. They are then exposed to lead contamination.

Thank you Webster. I am glad that I have met a blogger that has a screen name of one of my favorite suburbs. Even indoor/outdoor cats recycle their body waste. They did a hole in the flower bed and after they pass a stool, they rake the dirt back causing the cat stool to compost.
