I just heard from one of my sisters who has a very rebellious 14 year old son.  She found him putting the anarchy symbol on his MSN page and then also found another one above his bed.  This kid likes to wear all black clothes, but says he's not goth.  She's really scared and worried he's a Satanic worshipper. She had him get rid of both pictures, because she said she won't have devil worshipping in her house.  He told her just cause you can't see them, doesn't make it go away.  Is there anything she should be worried about?  I'd be terrified if he was my son!  Any thoughts on this??

I knew a lot of kids that dressed that way in high school and it meant nothing (im 24). It was just a way to say that they were different. The anarchy sign has lost its excitement too. Kids these days dont use it for the same reasons thay used to. Im just saying all this in a generalized fashion, she really might have a reason to be worried, after she lives there, I dont. I hope you and your sister works everything out.

The anarchy symbol is about rebelion and used by the punk rock scene. Its a teen phase. A upside down cross might by something to worry about especialy if they torture or kill animals.

Thanks for the info. Like I told her, I'm glad it's not my kids.

I agree with what was said, but I wanted to add that the mother of this child should stay alert. Although with most kids it is a fad or faze they are going through. For some it is not. For some it is their way of showing that they are unhappy and may be experiencing depression as was the case with my son.

I heard a preacher once say that his middle son, his favorite because he was born the weakest, was listening to some music that the preacher did not approve. He told his son that in HIS house, such music is not allowed. He gave the Scripture quote of "and for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord!" His son turned 18 and said that he was going to move to a house down the street (which was a crack-house) because the man living there (who was a crack dealer) treated him more like a father than he (the preacher) did. Of course that hurt the father (preacher) more than anything in the world. Some time later, the father went down to that crack-house and banged on the door. The owner came to the door and said, "What do you want?" The father said, "I have come for my son!" He loved his son enough to go through Hell to get him back!

Open the lines of communication. Get his father involved (if he is not already involved with him, get him there!!!). The only way your son will ever know that he is a man is by another man who is his FATHER!

BTW, I shall keep the both of you in my prayers and I had completed a Catholic Men For Christ Conference yesterday. The speaker I shared with you was one of the speakers and was a Protestant mininster who converted to Catholicism after he and his congregation did a study on Early Church History. Most of his family and 40 members of his congregation converted to Catholicism. He was a dynamic speaker!

God bless!

dont under estimate satan, pray for this boy, he is most probably under satan's influence and may eventually become possessed by satan.

All teens go through a time of self identity. They want to be different on the outside because they are not sure who they are yet on the inside.

If my mother hadnt burned my black jacket with the skulls on it I would have gotten bored and stopped wearing it on my own after only a few months.

But telling me I couldnt wear it was like a challenge. That dark clothes fad lasted me for 2 years and made for some HORRIBLE school pics during that time.

Dark clothes are just dark clothes. The anarchy sign was wall all over my school but it nnever ment the devil to us it was about not conforming and not being like everyone else.

Panic if he starts killing animals for fun or starts using drugs but dont bother panicing over the clothing issue.

I'd worry. My granddaughter took up that same stuff. She even carved the sign on her ankle, and began cutting herself, ended up in the loony bin for a while and THEN everyone paid attention to what was going on in her head. There's more going on than you can see, that's for sure and for certain!

Move him away from here. Go somewhere and start all over, he'll kick and scream, but he'll live!

I am a retired letter carrier with the Postal Service. I live in the country with my husband, who is my best friend. We met doing country dancing and did a lot of it. I have three children...1 daughter and 2 sons. We are now the proud grandparents of a beautiful baby girl! I am a country girl thru and thru, and love nothing better than living out here in the middle of our woods! I love Fox 2 in the morning and feel lacking if I don't get to see it.
