Yikes! What's with the double shooting in my hometown! Both happened on my old mail route too. Things like this don't normally happen around here. Kinda scary! I'm sure it was doubly scary for my sister too. The suicide happened on her and her husband's car lot!

I will never understand how a person can become that Psychotic over a relationship... If somebody didn't want me... I would just move on.....

I guess I can take rejection.... many can't

I know. The guys I worked with were always asking me if I wanted to shoot my ex because he left me. Why would I? I like you never understood that.

People are jsut nuts I knew a guy that killed himself over a girl, it's just a shame no matter what happens in life. Life is just to great to just give up like that

I heard the husband shot the wife because of the boyfriend. Was the husband and wife still together? I feel sorry for the three children, the have to live with what happened for the rest of their lives.

Regardless whether or not they were still together,or even if this were out&out adultery, one NEVER has the right to leave their kid[s]without a mom[or in rare cases, dad]!NEVER!A'barring legit self defence because they're the one being attacked&have no choice!

And as far as that gutless p[sic]y in the body of a man "boyfriend" who just ran off and ABANDONED that poor MOM to be murdered:That worthless COWARD should be run through a meatgrinder feet first while still alive!NO ONE has any right to be involved with a women[even if she's just a one night stand!]if he doesn't even have the guts to even die for her if needed!I HATE COWARDS!!!!

I know it doesn't matter if they were still together or not and if there was or wasn't a boyfriend around, it doesn't give anyone the right to kill. I heard bits & pieces.

The boyfriend was shot also. He didn`t run away like madbear suggested. The husband had a history of drug abuse and we all know what that will do. There are a lot of people out here in the country that are addicts or users and there needs to be a big change somewhere. The court system slaps them on the hand when they do catch them, so they are usually home before the paperwork gets done. The ex-wife had tried to get an order of protection and was either denied or it hadn`t been put through yet. It is really tragic that this happened as far as the children are concerned, but drugs do this every day somewhere in this country and the victims are always the children.

Weird why does everyone think that an order of protection is going to keep someone from killing you? That little piece of paper will not stop a bullet. If they are crazy enough to shoot you, they are not going to worry about violating an order of protection. Until the people in Jefferson City change the laws an order of protection is not worth the paper it is typed on.

The "order of protection" that will save you from one of these psychos is called a concealed-carry permit. It's a piece of paper certifying that you can and might do unto that type what that type would do unto you--possibly first.

The woman was granted an Order of Protection, but did not return to court to have it made permanent.

Of course, you're right, Golfnut....a piece of paper will not stop a bullet.

As thumpaliver wrote....she needed that 'other' order of protection...and that's the truth!

Right on to thompaliver, and I just can't figure out why hardly anyone--ESPECIALLY women in dangerous situations!--owns&carries a firearm when it's perfectly legal to!

Also on Weird's point:I admit the early reports were conflicting&confusing, and one I heard stated the boyfriend was shot AFTER the wife.If true, meaning he was caught by surprise and it was already too late,I STILL say he should have been armed&expecting possible trouble, but people make mistakes.HOWEVER,if he DID run off first, albiet wounded--but not bad enough to stop him from running out, that's STILL...INFAMA!

Although I am not a gun advocate, I agree with thumpaliver. There is a chance the children would not be orphans if Mom had taken realistic steps to protect herself from an abusive spouse.

The concealed carry law is great. I endorse it heartily because it could serve as a deterrant to some criminals that think before committing a crime. We have had legal open carry in the state of Missouri for as long as I can remember. There is a fine line between carrying a rifle on a gun rack in your pickup truck and actually touching the gun to try to stop a criminal offense. If you took your rifle out to stop a robbery, you are brandishing a deadly weapon unless you have a badge to legally do police work. With a crime of passion there is very seldom enough time to access a handgun or rifle. A well trained rifleman can fire a fatal shot at distances up to 1,000 yards. You can`t prepare yourself for an attact from that distance. I have a rifle that will penetrate a half inch steel plate at 350 yards, and am able to hit a target the size of a small cantelope at that range also. A well trained rifleman could do the same at three times that distance. That is over 1/2 mile. Carrying a pistol would do nothing against this sort of attact. When you see a family member that is acting goofy enough to commit such an act, report them or intervene yourself. Convince them that they need help. And given this man`s reputation for drug use, somebody should have reported him a long time ago.

I am a retired letter carrier with the Postal Service. I live in the country with my husband, who is my best friend. We met doing country dancing and did a lot of it. I have three children...1 daughter and 2 sons. We are now the proud grandparents of a beautiful baby girl! I am a country girl thru and thru, and love nothing better than living out here in the middle of our woods! I love Fox 2 in the morning and feel lacking if I don't get to see it. You guys crack me up!! Love you all!
