Yesterday, The Humane Society of the United States led a massive rescue effort to save nearly 700 breeding dogs and puppies in the largest puppy mill rescue in Tennessee history.
Watch our exclusive video of the rescue of hundreds of animals from the horrors of the Pine Bluff Kennels puppy mill operation.
The HSUS is working with a small army of dedicated individuals, and the animals are now safely housed in a temporary emergency shelter operated by The HSUS, where veterinarians are assessing the animals' medical needs. The animals will be placed with HSUS partner shelters and given the chance to be adopted into loving homes.
Members of our own Humane Society Of Missouri Were on hand to assist in this raid. Great Job by all that were involved!!
I hope that the Owners of this Puppy Mill get what is coming to them and they

Help Give Homeless Animals a Second Chance
The Humane Society of Missouri is dedicated to second chances. They provide a safe and caring haven to all animals in need--large and small--that have been abused, neglected or abandoned. Their mission is to end the cycle of abuse and pet overpopulation through their rescue and investigation efforts, spay/neuter programs and educational classes. They are committed to creating lasting relationships between people and animals through their adoption programs. They further support that bond by making available world-class veterinary care, and outstanding pet obedience and behavior programs.
Founded in 1870, the Humane Society of Missouri serves more than 90,000 animals annually. The Humane Society of Missouri receives no federal, state or local tax support or United Way funding.
Proceeds raised by Bark in the Park benefit the Humane Society of Missouri's Dr. Doolittle Fund, which provides veterinary medical care for homeless pets so that they can go up for adoption. The cost of pre-adoption veterinary care can be hundreds of dollars for each pet. Without owners to pay for this medical care, you are making it possible for a homeless stray to become a loved pet. The animals send their thanks!

Two Dogs Thrown Off Union Overpass
One Dies as a Result of Serious Injury
This week the Humane Society received horrific news from the St. Louis City Police Department that a concerned citizen walking to his car witnessed two dogs that were thrown from the Union Avenue overpass. Although the other dog was able to run away, we are concerned that it may also have suffered serious injury. Our Rescues and Investigations team, along with Animal Control and the St. Louis City Police Department will continue to look for the missing dog.

Severely injured Pit Bull
being evaluated by
HSMO veterinarian staff
The two dogs, a Pit Bull and large mix,
fell approximately 30 ft. onto the west side of the Union Avenue Receiving parking lot, which is just south of I-70.
It is with heavy hearts that we report that the pit bull has died. He suffered multiple fractures in both front legs, nerve damage, was unable to walk and was in nearly uncontrollable pain. After detailed consultation and examination of the dog, Humane Society veterinarians determined that it was in the dog’s best interest that it be humanely euthanized.
The Humane Society Of Missouri is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person/persons responsible for this abuse. For more information please click here.
Medical care for the injured Pit Bull and costs for the continuing investigation are funded by our Chi Chi Fund, which is dedicated to investigating, healing and preventing animal abuse. Please help us prevent this grievous type of abuse and suffering by giving to the Chi Chi Fund
