This holiday season has surfaced many of organizations with good intentions of helping those who are without. Problem is many many have taken advantage of these "soup kitchens" , "bread lines", and "food Pantries"..Simply because its free.

A local paper has interviewed people who chose to camp out outside the stores on Thursday night. Waiting to get those big purchases on BLACK FRIDAY.  They were amazed at how many people admitted to taking advantage of the charities on Wed. and Thursday, to get a free meal.  Not because they were in need, but rather, they simply saw opportunity to get something for nothing. Some even laughed that they would rather have a full belly and spend their money at Best buy than at Schnucks.

Where has the pride of Americans gone? Is there no more humbling feeling than to have to accept CHARITY  to feed your family?  Apparently not anymore.

Where has the idea of being honest with yourself, your fellow man, and the Lord, gone?

Why have the Charities chose not to protect those in need from the Charity Vultures?

If they expect people to give to the "needy"   then they, Charities, automatically assume the responsiblity of making sure this DONATED food truely is delivered into the hands of the needy. SO... more can be better served.

Not to those who want their Holiday dinner and eat it too.

Charities are limited in what they can do to stop thieves from stealing from the poor.

They cannot demand proof of address and income or they'll be excluding those in who are in the most need of help.

For example: When I was living in the woods up here I could not get any food from the food bank because I did not have proof of an address or income. So if I wanted to eat I had a long trek downtown to the Salvation Army to get a meal and a long trek back. And in winter you basically used up the full energy received from the meal or maybe even more. I frequently choose to go without eating instead of tiring myself out and having to suffer so much pain (I have physical damage and suffer pain daily even without exerting myself, and my pain would be intense for hours or even days after just one trip).

People who steal from the poor and needy like that don't even consider themselves thieves they are so self absorbed and inconsiderate of others. And charities that demand too much proof of need exclude those who need help the most.

Some good points Joe.

Isn't it ashame? And because of these Charity Vulures many will go with less or none at all.

Many of these Vultures go from County to county or town to town and collect. They will have 3 or 4 turkeys if not more by the end of the day.

Its unfortunate but we don't have the ability to feed the multitudes with just one fish and one bread.

I think we need to really give this some thoughts. There has got to be an answer.

The only real answer will come when Jesus returns and Satan's influence over the world is removed.

Thieves will always find ways to steal from all the social assistance organizations we have in society, just like they steal from everything we do or create, but we must continue to fund them and work to improve their ability to help those in need.

Sadly, many people choose to stop giving when they become aware of the actions of those types of thieves, which removes even more from the supplies that are available to help the needy.

And people know that even if they do get caught they don't need to worry about being punished by our legal system or shamed in the public eye so there is no deterrent to their continuing to steal, and this encourages other selfish unsympathetic people to do the same.

I agree whole heartedly. What ever happened to "Paying it Forward"?
I wish more people had a conscience.

Whereas principle is a great and noble protection against showy and degrading vanities and vices, poverty is worth six of it. - Mark Twain
