It's amazing isn't it. The process of hiring an NFL head coach that is. Look at what the Rams went through 3 years ago. All the interviews and they come up with Scott Linehan. On his first day in his first presser you could tell he couldn't command a room. All of these guys that they are interviewing know the game. So who do you chose. Choose someone who knows the NFL and is used to winning. My pick: I have no idea. This is the team who chose Linehan, Brooks and Vermeil. Forget the Superbowl. Picking someone who was out of coaching for 15 years was a stretch.
Favorite: Frazier
Sleeper: McDaniels
Fallback: Haslett

It's my blog so I can toot my own horn, but when Hazelwood East scores on the final play to win the state title after 11:00pm on Friday the only station there to witness it was FOX2. Covering prep sports is hard. No matter how much you do some one whines and complains that you're not covering their school or their kid. We even got a call from a woman who was complaing we weren't giving enough credit to the kids playing in the 3rd place game in the soccer playoffs. The 3rd place game? Please. Listen, we care about high school sports and we do more as much as any other big-market team in the country. Nuff said..

What happened to Mizzou basketball? Is it just me or is there anything more boring than Mizzou basketball? Is it the arena? Is it the inability to bring in top notch talent? Look at he players that filled the roster in columbia in the 80's, 90's and early 2000's and look at the team now. The'yre just a bunch of guys. Not bad players but nobody I need to see play. Look at Illinois, SLU and Mizzou...Wake me up for Spring Training.

The cloud that has hung over Earth City for the past 2 years has finally been lifted. I said it the day it happened(trustme I did) and I'll say it again. What an awful hire. There has never been an NFL Head Coach...wait a minute..Ray Handley...ok.. Who had less of a presence than Linehan. With the coach gone Rams Park is no longer the home of the FOSL's. Everybody put on a good face on Monday. I respect Linehan, Haslett and everybody for doing so. Just to see how things truly were look at what happened today.
Linehan made 2 moves last week. Bench bulger and cut Brown. What were Haslett's first 2 moves? Reinstate Bulger and re-sign Brown. If that's not an FU I don't know what is. The Rams may not win another game but at least they're in the hands of someone who's not afraid of the star players on his team.

Well let's see what happens. I think it's a good move. Bulger has been off but the 1st 2 games he had no time. Sunday the O-line did better so maybe it was more Marc, but he's not the whole problem. Bulger isn't playing defense. I hope Trent can take a hit because he's going to get hit. Alot. This may have saved the coaches job till January but that's it.

Another blowout loss. There is no point in waiting. Make the move now. This team is 3-16 in it's last 19 games. There are no exscuses this year. 13 more weeks of this drudgery and I may just change careers.

He looked really bad when he flipped the ball out before he hit the endzone..but he's the first rookei wr in 68 years to have 100 yards receiving in his 1st 2 games. Donnie Avery let's see what you can do.

I just got out of the control room producing the post-game show and I've realized that it's worse than last year. This team has no heart and an overwhelming lack of talent. AND PLEASE, PLEASE STOP WEARING THE BLUE PANTS.!!!!IF YOU'RE GOING TO SUCK AT LEAST DON'T LOOK BAD. WEAR THE GOLD PANTS!!!! Ok, have to gear up for Rams Weekly Monday at 6:30pm on the 2fox...Mizzou vs the Rams...Who wins?

Someone tell the Cardinals....that they were playing the Pirates!!! Please. All I can say is is it's over. Mizzou thought: Man they look amazing but let's wait until they play a real team before we have them playing in the national championship game. Illinois might not be as good as we think. Today might be the most important game of the season for the Rams. Another drubbing and the wheels might come off.

So the Cardinals will shut down Chris Carpenter for the rest of the season. I wonder why? We'll evidently he's having a hard time recovering form the ONE INNING he pitched in relief!! There was no point in rushing him back. None. Was more damage done by rushing him back.? They(Cardinals) won't tell us that answer. One thing is for sure there is no way you can count on Carpenter when you are looking at the Cardinals rotation in 2009. How can you?

4th place. Now that the astros have passed the Cardinals it's where the Redbirds sit. Fans cannot tolerate this no matter what their record is. Though what normally has been a week division was strong this year it still shouldn't sit well with fans. I hope the redbirds don't finish above the Astros. It'll be interesting to see what management does in the offseason. So am I declaring the season over? The fat lady's not singing but she's warming up.

Could it have been any worse? All that was said in the pre-season and you come out and give a performance like that. The Eagles are good but come on. The Eagles top 2 receivers are out and still 3..3!!! receivers get over 100 yards. It's almost unfathomable. Here's all that needs to be said. My fiance', who if she wasn't going to marry me would never watch a football game in her life..okay..watched the game and her comment on the Rams was "it looked like the didn't want to play". Nuff said.

If you think you're happy that the pre-season imagine trying to cover these games and make it interesting. It's hard get excited about the battle for the 3rd qb job. Anybody remeber Will Furreror Dave Barr. I don't think so. So I rack my brain and get together a good show and then mother nature sets in. When a 10 block wide downpour delayed the cards game it blew out our entire Rams Gameday Live prior to the Ravens game. 2 days of work gone, like it never happened. Then a rainstorm in KC blows out our pre-game live shots and delays the Rams game more than an hour. Needless to say I'm ready for the regular season. Check out Fox2 tonight it's the first day of the prepzone. See you on the 2fox at 9:30pm.

It's official. I am a blogger. I'm the Supervising Sports Producer here at the 2fox. So what does that mean? Well the producers are the people who actually make the sportscasts and shows you see on the air. I'm in charge of all our Rams shows, Cards shows and Prepzone coverage. Though you may not know my face or name, I and the other producers in this market have a tremendous effect on the sports coverage you see on tv. So now that I have my own blog I'll give you my 2 cents worth on the St. Louis sports scene, movies and whatever else comes to my mind. I've got to get back to putting together tonight's pre-game show now(check out Rams Gameday live at 5:30pm) so I'll catch you in blogville later..
