Did you read about the New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress?  Last night he “accidentally” shot himself in the leg.  My main question, why is this NFL star playing with guns?

Even though his stats aren’t great this year his salary is.  You figure that a combination of career, money, ability, trainers, and more would keep him out of trouble.  NOT!  He’s been guilty of inappropriate comments on officiating (fined $20K), unsportsmanlike conduct/verbal abuse of an official (fined $20K), and throwing a football in the stands (fined $5K).  It must be nice to throw $45K away.

By not participating at a mandatory mini-camp for the NY Giants, he risked losing $8,600 per day.  This isn’t too smart mainly since he just signed a $25M 6 year contract…for PLAYING a sport. 

Here’s my challenge to fellow bloggers, what sports stars have been fined or lost money because of their stupidity?  Yeah, Vick will be heavily commented on, how much did he lose?   Another challenging question, who knows some name Plaxico?  LOL – can’t wait to hear from you!

Since any acts of STUPIDITY (rudeness) are not legally a misdemeanor yet - I will DELETE any rude remarks from experienced jerks/trolls. I do HAVE the right to discriminate!

yeah the amounts of money these people make are ridiculous...vick is a total waste mainly with his betting on pitbulls and their violent behavor...there was a baseball player about five or so years ago that didn't like blacks or hispanics...then you have barry bonds supposedly not taking the juice but hes unemployed now but in 2007 made 20 million dollars...the list goes on and on and these fox 2 sports dudes are sharp they'll throw in some names...

I believe that persons name is John Rocker. This is responding to Retiredpros question and Rocker when in NY didn't like hispanics and blacks. The guy had a great arm and just made over $5 million. He was playing for the Braves when it NY commenting on a variety of people. He also formed some type of group to speak English. LOL this I agree with as long as you are American speak the primary language.

I think Michael Jordan bet millions of dollars on gambling.

Of course he didn't go broke because he has so much of it.

Maybe his marriage to Juanita was more of a gamble than betting, the divorce cost him over $168,000,000.

I'm thinking about Mike Tyson the boxer. He made like $300 million in one year and I believe either filed for bankruptcy or just went broke. Does anyone know of this and where the heck are the sport genius's from Fox2. I figured they'd be commenting on here guess they need to have their coffee first.

I want to see a more recent name on this tossing the money away issue.

AnswerMan, I think the owners are the one's tossing money away with these outrages contracts. The higher they go, so does our ticket prices.

did you notice two people missing from the giants lineup last night...mark ingram will be serving at least seven years in prison for his money laundering and bank fraud conviction...and that plaxico burress oh what a name shot himself and is on injured reserve plus he got arrested for the illegal use of a firearm...give em money and they will show you the way...

I am me. I've been blogging since the term existed but began here in March 2007. I am completing my Doctorate of CS (Common Sense). I like a harsh debate but when ego gets involved we all tend (except ego-tripper) to shy away. I am a firm believer that STUPIDITY should be a misdemeanor.
