The hospital of the future could be a lot closer to the present than you'd ever imagine. In Fenton, SSM Healthcare is building St. Clare Health Center, which will replace St. Joseph's in Kirkwood in March of 2009. SSM President, Sister Mary Ryan “Sounds Off” about the hospitals' construction and how the entire focus is on the patient. What do you think?  Do you like hospitals?  Do you like the new design? It will be the closest one to my house when it is completed so I will probably be doing business with them someday...... Hopefully not until I am about 120 years old....

Healthcare is nothing but a big racket in this country! Where does a charitable institution such as SSM Healthcare get the kind of money it takes to build this new facility? Any time I see something even remotely associated with the Catholic Church and a dollar bill, I know something's going on that shouldn't be going on. What a bunch of crooks!

The Joseph's Kirkwood Health Center will be closing once St. Clair is operational.

Healthcare is a necessity for many if not all at one point in our lives. Daily, 1000s of people in our metro area are in hospitals seeking and receiving help. Where is the racket in that? SSM is just one who cares about family and or going to greater serve not just the patient but the patient’s family as well thru what for many can be a troubling time.

I’m glad my insurance is good there.
