Most people in the St. Louis area don't own shares or work for the brewery, but some still tried to have their voices heard with grassroots efforts like rallies and petitions.

While many white collar jobs at Anheuser-Busch are in jeopardy, many blue collar jobs will be safe as long as their beers keep selling. While many are willing to keep drinking Bud, they certainly aren't as hesitant to change as they used to be before the sale.

It's your turn to Sound Off!

I thought that InBev would be unable to purchase A/B because they do business with Cuba. Was this statement by A/B not true?

You know I remember when we would drive all the way to Kansas City Kansas to get Coors beer...... It was great..... Then they got bought and a lot of things changed..... Now a days you could not give it away around here.... There is no doubt that In Bev will buy A B.... It's just up to them what they do with it..... They can build or run it in the ground..... there is competition for my business so they are up to bat...... I hope they realize that it's more than just the product and a lot of it depends on how the public feels about them.......

Good job Fox 2 on your excellent coverage of tne AB buyout. I especially liked Sean Conroy's story about the boycott many St. Louisians are planning. However, just like the story show, their are still going to be workers here in St. Louis and we have got to do our best to support them so their jobs here are secure.

It was brewed in Colorado when it was not supposed to cross the Missouri tut then it was trade agreements and not Union Boycott.... But when it got bought out the new owners changed the Union and the formula..... Non Union and Non Pastuerized and tasted like BOOGEDY...... My memory is foggy so somebody corrrect me if I'm wrong.... We used to leave chrysler during the Christmas holidays and bring back a van full of it.....

Yes I was a Bootlegging Shine Runner.....lol

We should NOT Boycott INBEV!!! We should in all fairness give them 3 to 4 months to see if they will live up to their word. If we boycott AB products now, all that will be done is, InBev will be able to do the massive cutbacks and layoffs with a legitimate reason. We will only be jeopardizing all of those employees and their families that rely on their jobs. Give them 3 to 4 months and if they start hurting those who are loyal employees then I will start drinking Coors Light instead of Michelob Light.

If one of the Busch family gets on the board at Inbev, we will all know who helped make this a reality. The Busch family needs to maintain what it is they initiated a long time ago, cash in their chips and walk away.

On another note...If InBev sells off the theme parks and other various venues not related to Beer, they are silly. Every other company out there is trying to become more diverse. Tobacco companies own Food companies. The same company, who owns a Tea company in England, just purchased Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford. I think if they can't use their worldly powers of advertising and global marketing influences to make AB stronger and more profitable without cutting out the little people, then they need to go back to Business Management School!!

For the sake of all of the AB employees and their families, let's give them a chance! We do not need any more of the St. Louis area residents unemployed! Let’s not give InBev any reason for massive layoffs!

InBev is cut throat and I am surprised that they haven't already sent the Clydsdales to the glue factory! I am afraid that some upper level management at A-B are going to find out the hard way that they aren't quite as important as they thought! Once InBev takes over, St.Louis is going to know how much the Busch family really did for this town. What a shame!

It saddens me to think that the Busch family thinks so little of the legacy that was left to them. It seems that the selling of the Cardinals was just the beginning of the end. To the Busch family; your grandfather, great grandfather and your great great grandfather, would never have allowed you to sell out St. Louis. Shame on you!!! I hope you have lined your pockets well.

Its not just that..in the past few months it appears many businesses are selling out to foreign countries. Why are we selling out?

perkypolock, the reason that we all selling out so to speak is because the US dollar is very, very weak compared to other curriencies including the Euro, so this was a real good buy to Inbev unfortunately. They don't pay as much as they would've a few years ago and the shareholders get a lot more than they would've a few years ago.

The weak dollar also explains why gas cost so much more than it used to. Plus other things, but I won't go there.

A 22yr old kid lost his life on Sunday and all you can talk about is rich white Americans getting richer. If these A B worker get to keep there jobs, they have more then what this kid has. If you are really looking for the killing a little more air time would be nice. You know maybe you could show the guys pic more than 10 sec.

On sunday a 22yr old black kid was shot and kill and all we can talk about is rich (white) Americans getting richer. If the A B workers are able to keep there jobs, then i consider that a blessing and if the people don't like the deal then STOP drinking. However i am yet to see the picture of the men they say to have killed this young man for more then a few seconds. If you are interested in finder the killer perheps more air-time of the story would help. I mean this was a human life taken.

My 2 cents

although, I do not drink beer (my friend does), I feel that the underlying issue here was all about how to get richer, and screw how the people felt as an community which have supported the AB company and helped make it whaet is, or shall I say was? We don't have to have stock with AB, we supported it with our wallets when we chose to drink AB brand at local clubs, bars, lounges, etc.....I don't think that InBev gave a two cents about keeping jobs in the community or any other effect that this will have. When I first heard the porposed idea of AB being owned by InBev, I knew it was just a matter of time. Look at the 7up and Ralston Purina companies. we have to accept the fact that we just lost a littl peice of the STL........
