For all you nervous and stressed fliers who think a drink will help calm your nerves, be careful how many you put down before takeoff. The feds are clipping the wings of tipsy airline passengers.

How do you feel about cracking down on drunk fliers?

Do you have to blow before you get on the plane......

If the superb security detail at airports coupled with the layers of filtering by the actual airline cannot spot a drunk passenger then that drunk deserves a free flight!

Now, if one boards a plane sober and orders drinks on the flight then maybe you SHOULDN'T SERVE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE AIR!

I am still more concerned about DRUNK pilots.

I was a flight attendant for 10 years. I enjoyed the occasional drunk...kind of like when someone pulls the fire alarm in high school...something interesting and just plain old fun: )

I was always concerned about the pilots on my red eyes. I checked on them a LOT.

On a return from a business trip..I had the pleasure of sitting next to a co-worker that had to many....

I didnt think that was fun OR funny.

If it makes people that nervous...they should not fly.

I say, "Oh well".

If you fly on their plane, you gotta go by their rules.

It just the same as if you were to ride in someone elses car. They dont want you to smoke or eat in their car, you gotta go with it.

I say suck it up and get to where you're going. Besides, how many 'drunks of the air' get off the plane and head straight for the rental car booth?

Given that I fly a couple times a week for the last 30+ years I can't say that I've ever seen an out of control drunk on a flight. I have seen flight attendents cut a few people off.

If a passenger becomes beligerent and interferes with the flight crew, we already have laws on the books to deal with that. Enforce what's there and forget about any new legislation.

I guess next if you're drunk you can't ride in a cab. Same thing only different.

It is different. A cabby can pull over and kick his fare out. Hard to do in an airborn capsule. AND, the fare most likely isn't sharing the cab with families with small children either. It really is apples and oranges.

I'm not nervous about flying, but my ears are super sensitive and I have spent several flights in tears of pain. I started drinking before flights so I could relax and fall asleep as soon as possible...sometimes before take off.

Are "the feds" worried about all intoxicated passengers or just the ones that cause a ruckus?
