Since we hired J.C. Corcoran of K-Hits 96 to deliver commentary a few months ago, on any given night, the topic might be politics, city government, or a piece involving pop culture.
But in the edition of What’s On My Mind, something different from J.C.
A love story.
Tells us what you think about J.C.'s story - It's time to Sound Off!

I too am part of those blessed enough by God to have been able to spend 16 plus years with a cat as a family member. It was exactly half of my life at that time. Afterwards, I discovered that he was the last piece of my childhood years to have departed my adult life. I still miss Bo-Bo. Life gets tough growing up at times. My heart is in my throat for your loss.

We are sorry to hear about the loss of Cloe. Our cat, Dijon, just turned 18 on this passed Saturday. Although we try to prepare ourselves for the inevitable, it's impossible. When it's her turn to go, we too, will have lost a family member. Our hearts are breaking with yours.

Having lost my 18 year plus old kitty 2 years ago I know what you're going thru. My heart goes out to you, your girls and triple C. Not to mention poor Victor who probably doesnt know what's going on--he just knows that Chloe is no longer there--just doesn't understand why

JC, I am on your side TOTALLY on this. The same holds true here for my cat "Squeak" (same pic on the Avatar) Squeak was born in 1991, and I lost her almost 2 months ago. It too, was a sudden turn for the worse, and spent a lot of money for her health, but if I had it all to do over again, I would in a flash, hands-down. It really is heart-wrenching when you lose someone like that who was a best comapanion, and it's hard to replace them. I, myself am in the middle of planning a move, and before this all happened, I thought of all the fun I would have had with my Squeak. She was just like Chloe...always showed love even after the worst day...kept you feet warm at night, and of course was always grateful for the unconditional love. One does not let go of a beloved feline very easily. From the Lemery family to the Corcoran family, it takes a pet-lover to know a pet-lover. Our prayers are with you, and it does take time. Much peace, and condolences.

J.C. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved cat. I know that our furry friends can provide just as much companionship and friendship as our non furry friends can, but what's more, you're right...they provide us with a need we can't get from anyone else: UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. That's something that's just hard to find anywhere else. People just don't realize, pets/animals have feelings too...They grieve, they rejoice and they love in their own special way and each and everyone have a different personality that strikes out in the way that they communicate to us that makes each one unique in their own nature!!
You take care and hopefully one day you will find the same kind of love that you once had and found in your precious beloved and missed cat in a new kitty.
In the meantime, please check out our furry family if you get the time: http://www.catster.com/family/492077

Well of a owner of 3 cats and have had cats for over 20 years ...I cant imagine losing a cat I have had boyfriends that have always had them and when I met my husband he had 2 Pikaboo & Sabrina and on our 1st wedding anniversary we bought Taylor from PetsMart in South City . They all have stolen my heart... For your cat owners with older cats ..An ex-bf of mine theyre parents had a cat it was all mixed color except the paws, they were white its name was snowpaws. That cat lived to be 27 yes-- 27 years of age. Sorry to hear about your cat JC I cant imagine what youre going through.

Oh JC I am so so sorry about Chloe, the cat in my avatar was 16 and we just lost him two weeks ago. seems like a huge hole in our lives as I am sure there is in yours. but rest assured, she loved you as much as you loved her. and when you least expect it another cat will claim you as their human. just remember... one cat leads to another....my thoughts and prayers are with you.......Diane

JC, sorry to hear about Chloe. I have two dogs and a cat, and I have had to grieve three times in the past. You get so attached to them it is difficult when one passes away. It is unconditional love, and they never judge you. My condolences for your loss.

Hi JC - Just 2 years ago I lost my 17 year old Mr. Kitty. Very recently I was far enough through the grief to add a cay, Zoey, to our family. She's real buddy. Having apparently been abused it took her months to really trust, learn to purr and feel relaxed enough to play. We've loved moving every step of the way with her. Mr. Kitty approves. He even sleeps on the bed with us sometimes. Your grief too shall pass.
