Ok all of you fashionistas (I know...that's not a word) out there...tell me what you thought of the dress Michell Obama wore on election night.  My first thought was "what the...is she wearing?  Is that an apron or what?".

After seeing the dress' initial design, I can see why she chose to wear it, however it (imo) was not as flattering on her as the dress she wore during the nomination acceptance ceremonies.

I think Mrs. O has an incredible sense of style, but for her...this was an "off" day indeed.  The girls' dresses were adorable!  Mrs. McCain was as sharp as usual.  She too has a great sense of style!

Your thoughts???

It's time to have your furnace checked and check the batteries in your SMOKE and CARBON MONOXIDE detectors!!!!  Just this past weekend, we lost four (relatively young) people  from carbon monoxide poisoning.  Such a lethal silent killer, that one!  If you don't have a smoke or carbon monoxide detector, PLEASE, run to Home Depot, Lowes, Walgreens, Walmart or where ever they sell them and pick one up for yourself for it won't be long before the temperature will drop and we'll be ever so tempted to turn that thermostat up to keep our little footsies nice and cozy.

I personally do not have a carbon monoxide detector but I plan to purchase one soon.  Maybe this weekend.  If you have any elderly friends, neighbors and or relatives, who may be in need of either one of these items, do try to provide them with one of these potential life savers before the cold weather sets in.  It's such a sad thing to read about someone who went to sleep and never woke up because of this.

Sometimes our local fire departments give away and install smoke/carbon monoxide detectors to those less fortunate.  If anyone knows of such a resource, do tell...as it could save a life.

Peace and God Bless...

  • I remember a co-worker telling us that a plane had just crashed into one of the twin towers in New York.

  • I remember feeling emotion of shock and disbelief.

  • I remember the skirmish and huddles around computers trying to find out more information as those tragic events took place at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember seeing the sadness on the faces of those close to me.

  • I remember feeling anger toward those responsible for those events.

  • I remember having heated discussions about what happened.

  • I remember watching news coverage of the events for hours on end.

  • I remember trying to explain to my grandkids "why someone would do this".

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember feeling afraid whenever a plane would come in for a landing.

  • I remember being nervous about what would occur next.

  • I remember seeing the politicians coming together on that day.

  • I remember the silence as they halted all air traffic.

  • I remember a nation that seemed to have come to a screeching halt.

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember feeling sad for all of those who lost their loved ones on that day.

  • I remember seeing coverage of the small children who asked their moms "when is Daddy coming home?"

  • I remember seeing coverage of people posting pictures of loved ones in hopes that someone had seen them.

  • I remember seeing coverage of the smoke that billowed and smoldered from Manhattan for what seemed like months.

  • I remember the sadness.

  • I remember praying for the souls that perished on that day and for those who lost their loved ones.

  • I remember praying for those who were responsible for those tragic events.

  • I remember crying....
