  • I remember a co-worker telling us that a plane had just crashed into one of the twin towers in New York.

  • I remember feeling emotion of shock and disbelief.

  • I remember the skirmish and huddles around computers trying to find out more information as those tragic events took place at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania.

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember seeing the sadness on the faces of those close to me.

  • I remember feeling anger toward those responsible for those events.

  • I remember having heated discussions about what happened.

  • I remember watching news coverage of the events for hours on end.

  • I remember trying to explain to my grandkids "why someone would do this".

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember feeling afraid whenever a plane would come in for a landing.

  • I remember being nervous about what would occur next.

  • I remember seeing the politicians coming together on that day.

  • I remember the silence as they halted all air traffic.

  • I remember a nation that seemed to have come to a screeching halt.

  • I remember crying.

  • I remember feeling sad for all of those who lost their loved ones on that day.

  • I remember seeing coverage of the small children who asked their moms "when is Daddy coming home?"

  • I remember seeing coverage of people posting pictures of loved ones in hopes that someone had seen them.

  • I remember seeing coverage of the smoke that billowed and smoldered from Manhattan for what seemed like months.

  • I remember the sadness.

  • I remember praying for the souls that perished on that day and for those who lost their loved ones.

  • I remember praying for those who were responsible for those tragic events.

  • I remember crying....

Mom began to cry it can't be true it can't be true..Dad said that is no accident I read in a book about terroist doing that here..

Then grandma called mom talked to her and dad said well I can't repeat what he said but he was mad..

Then mom said we need milk and bread and some hambuger..So we whent to Wal Marts..OMG it looked like few days before Christmas it was so packed..

People grabbing lots and lots can food and stuff..We got the milk but there was only 2 left..We got bread not the kind we usaly get and the hambuger we was lucky to even get any of that..

I wanted some battiers for my flashlight but there was none left..

After fighting our way out from the pushing and shoving..We headed home omg the road wa packed..We got to our place but could not get in the drive..Cars and trucks bumper to bumper.

They was inline to get gas?? The station was way down at the end of the road and that was in line way down here..

Dad tryed to get into the drive but people honking there horns yelling stuff cussing at us.They thought we was trying to cut inline.

Well dad left the car and walked accross the street to eye doctors..He asked if we could park in there parking lot because we could not get in ours..

They said suer it was ok,so we did and walked across to our place..

I was at Hurlburt AFB in Florida. We were doing our pre flight check before a routine training mission. A SP came out to our plane and told us what had happened. All unnessecary flights were canceled that day.
The next day we were flying patrol missions up and down the east coast. We flew over NYC, when we did before that day we always used the towers as a control point. To no longer see them was, I do not know what to say it was. I was seeing red.

I remember watching the news and when the second plane hit I knew this was no freakin accident. I went ahead and drove to work and we all just gathered in the conference room and watched the news all day. I stopped at church on the way home and we had a memorial service. I remember Pastor taking one look at my miserable face and he was so compassionate. We all just hugged each other, we didn't really have words to express how we were feeling.

I remember the tv stations getting as many people on the tv as they could to show the pictures of their loved ones and if anyone had seen them.
I remember the pictures being on the lampposts for a long time.
I remember the media slowly telling how this whole thing went down, the airport videos of the terrorists walking through and getting on the plane, the one terrorist who did not have proper id and still was able to get on the plane-what is wrong with this picture.
I remember being thankful that my parents who were retired were not on one of the planes, they travel quite a bit (I don't want this to come out the wrong way, I just remember the pictures of the people on the plane and recall that could have been my parents.)
I remember hearing the tapes of the phone calls from family members calling to say good bye.
I remember that to this day I have not flown on a plane since 9/11.

I remember seeing the people jumping from the WWTC towers, due to they knew they would not be rescued due to the ladders or helicopters would not go as high as the top floors....

I remember most everything but I especially remember the jerks that owned the gas stations taking advantage and gouging people and setting off a nationwide panic at the pumps......

I remember all these emotions and many more......but what saddens me the most is the emotion I feel today.....almost all the flags I saw today were flown at full mast, forgetting to honor the innocent souls who lost their lives this day, only seven short years ago......shame on you Walmart, Applebees, KMOV, Bass Pro and all the other businesses who chose not to lower their flags........I guess you were too busy to remember

I remember one thing that is worth noting above all.
When the first tower fell , I literally said out loud , "those lucky bastards".
I knew then they would be celebrating in the streets and was no where near a TV.

THEY CELEBRATED !!!!
NEVER FORGET THAT !!!!

Whether in Iraq , Afghanistan or anywhere else , as long as we are taking on those that would see us dead , I'm all for it.
We are taking the war to them , not allowing them to bring it to us.
NO TALKS , NO COMPROMISES , NO SURRENDER!!

NO OBAMA!!!!!

I remember all of the above, however I also remember the feeling of a total violation. I remember feeling unsafe, my world would be different now. I remember everyone coming together for a cause. I remember people being nice to each other realizing that we are united as one. I remember people letting others in traffic, (normally this did not happen) I remember being nicer to all I encountered. I remember telling my boyfriend if this did nothing else then it made people realize how important it is to be solid and together, how important it is to be nice and respectful to one another, he said this is true but it will only last for a few months, then people will forget and get back on with the way they have always been. I argued with him and said no, this is different, this is our home and we have been attacked. He said, just wait. I am so sorry to say he was right, people who were stunned about 9/11 were nice and within a matter of a few months they changed back. How soon we forget..........

What also amaazes me is that there are not many posts under this, which proves that so many have forgotten, or it does not affect they lives so why bother. This is our country, IT DOES MATTER, even after all this time. I cherish every day, every friend, every stranger, because who knows, maybe tomorrow, maybe next week, maybe next year, God forbid, this could happen again. This is a reality check people, wake up. Lower those flags, be nice to stangers, what have you got to loose? Nothing, only knowing that when it is your time to leave this earth you will have done all you can to make it a better place to live and appreciate all you have becasue it could be gone tomorrow.

I'm with you Bakita..........how soon we forget.....it is truly pathetic..........Maybe everyone should visit the HOLE that was once the World Trade Center and be forced to remember how easy it was for so many lives to be destroyed (both the dead and the families and friends they left behind) literally in the blink of an eye and how no one is truly safe in this world today........

I haven't forgotten at all. Life goes on we remember. I have my moment of silence each tear. I remember going in making the bed coming out and thought a movie was on. Looked at Truman and said why is a movie on this early. Then in standing leaning on the back of the recliner I realised it wasn't a movie.
