It's March... Spring is in the air... Love is in the air... and at my house, a crazy bird is in the air.   I live in an atrium ranch home, so there is a wall of windows off of the living room. There is a robin that keeps hurling itself at my windows. I feel terrible, I know it's hurting itself... not to mention the big mess it's leaving on my wood deck.   So, I taped ribbons on the windows to try and scare it away. That only worked for a couple of days. Help!! Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to help this poor bird??

Is it just me or does the cold weather make you more hungry, have less energy and put a real damper on your overall mood??  Bring back  SPRING!!!

Okay, I know the snow is almost melted, but for next time:
fresh snow, 3 eggs, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups milk, 2 tsp. vanilla. Take mixing bowl and put in eggs and sugar. Beat well. Add milk and vanilla. Pour over fresh snow. Caution: do not use yellow snow, that's where the doggies go. My kids love making snow ice cream, it's become a family tradition on the first good snowfall. Enjoy!

It's early on Thursday and the sleet is coming down pretty good in my neck of the woods (which is half way to K.C. if you ask my friends at Fox). The back deck and front landscaping are completely white. Dave, Glenn and Chris say it's only going to get worse (help, send SkyFox to get me) My dogs (a chubby lab and a ball fetching fiened) are tucked inside with that look on their furry faces of "please don't send me back out there."

I anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and love being a part of the Fox 2 News Team. When I'm not anchoring the news, I'm trying to keep up with my two teenaged sons. (All the warnings about teenagers are true!) Just kidding, boys! I feel very fortunate to have such great kids... including my two step-daughters. My wonderful husband, who's also in the biz, is extremely talented and supportive of everything I do. I'm a huge animal lover. I have two dogs, a horse and a cockatiel. But, as a kid my pets included rabbits, goats, a racoon and a skunk! (I grew up in the Ozarks). I've traveled quite a bit, met with some famous celebrities and even been to a goat roping or two, so we have lots to blog about!
