Michael Vick vs common sense

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick was indicted last week in a case involving illegal interstate dog fighting. My son is a high school quarterback, and Vick is one of the NFL players he has always admired...until now, because I will no longer allow it. Vick has a rare combination of speed, elusiveness, field awareness and passing ability. He apparently also has a rare combination of cruelty and a lack of common sense. On Monday NFL commissioner Roger Goodell intervened and ordered Vick to stay away from training camp until the league completed its review of the case. The wheels of justice grind slowly, and the case might not be deposed until after the football season. What should be his fate?
Select Sports vs Parents

So another weekend of baseball travel is over. Don't get me wrong, I love to watch my sons play, but three days in Kansas/Alabama/Tennessee/Mississippi (pick one) can get a little old. Living out of a suitcase at the local Holiday Inn is a lot of fun when your 14 and a dozen of your teammates and friends are there (not to mention the softball teams staying at the hotel) but what about the parents? Finding fields in strange towns, eating all your meals at fast food restaurants, washing uniforms at 75 cents a pop at the end of the hall after waiting hours for an open machine... can be a tiring challenge. On the other hand, it certainly does offer the opportunity for quality bonding time with the kids! But when you have four hours to kill between games, and you're in Cordova, Tennessee, what do you do? Read? Write? Work sudoku puzzles? I'd love to hear some of your sports travel success/horror stories!
