It's March... Spring is in the air... Love is in the air... and at my house, a crazy bird is in the air.   I live in an atrium ranch home, so there is a wall of windows off of the living room. There is a robin that keeps hurling itself at my windows. I feel terrible, I know it's hurting itself... not to mention the big mess it's leaving on my wood deck.   So, I taped ribbons on the windows to try and scare it away. That only worked for a couple of days. Help!! Anyone have any ideas of what I can do to help this poor bird??

Can you hang windchimes or old cds in front of the windows. Birds don't care for the refractions the cds give off. The windchimes scare them.

I wonder if shades would help make it look like a wall instead of a nice open place to build a nest. Some use owl decoys to scare away pigeons. Maybe that works with robins...

I anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and love being a part of the Fox 2 News Team. When I'm not anchoring the news, I'm trying to keep up with my two teenaged sons. (All the warnings about teenagers are true!) Just kidding, boys! I feel very fortunate to have such great kids... including my two step-daughters. My wonderful husband, who's also in the biz, is extremely talented and supportive of everything I do. I'm a huge animal lover. I have two dogs, a horse and a cockatiel. But, as a kid my pets included rabbits, goats, a racoon and a skunk! (I grew up in the Ozarks). I've traveled quite a bit, met with some famous celebrities and even been to a goat roping or two, so we have lots to blog about!
