You know it's tough to keep up with what's "in" and what's not as far as women's health and beauty.  Well,  I've done my homework (with some help from friends) and I thought I'd share :

Fall 2007- Put away the bronzers and lip gloss.  This fall , "Glam" is back.  Smokey eyes are all the rage. Look for dark blues and  smokey grays to really give you the "sultry" look.  If you're doing the "big eye" thing... then stay neutral on the lips. But... ruby red lips ARE  back!  (especially for the young ladies)   If you're going bright on the lips, then compliment it with a neutral all-over lid color and a little mascara. The key... don't focus on both the eyes and the lips at the same time, its one or the other.  White-tipped nails... GONE!   Rich red polish will "nail" your fall look.

Next Question (for me): Does permanent hair removal really work? Ahhh, to never have to shave your legs or underarms again!!!  If anyone's had it... let me know!

Anyone out there with any thoughts or questions? I'm getting quite the group of "experts" to call on that seem to really know their stuff!!

Hi Sandy!! "Glam" is good...I just love the look of smokey eyes. But it would be hard to give up my lip gloss, although I do use a neutral shade. I couldn't agree with you more on the french manicure....OUT!! My nails are done in a good, rich brownish-red and it's perfect for fall.

Permanent hair removal? I'm actually considering it!! I will be watching this blog to see if anyone else has done it and what their results are. Not shaving again would be a dream come true!!

Hey Sandy!
I agree that it's important to keep up with the times, and I love change to a certain point. I'm not a heavy makeup person, but some is better than none in my book. LOL

As far as the french manicure goes I love mine, and the girl I go to is amazing! I never have to worry about the paint chipping and they always look neat. So sorry, I'm not going to change there. If I see you at the Blog-a-boo and come up showing my nails first you will know its me~! LOL

Peace, Jana<3

OMG....! I just slammed my best girl Jana and her fingernails too!!! I was just at my nail salon the other day and debating a French manicure, but I was thinking, that's more of a summer look and I am ready for fall!!

I'm so sorry Jana! Your nails are beautiful and so are you. I would never wear makeup if I had your skin!!

Hi Sandy!! Hi ladies & mr_wild!!

I kind of keep up with the times, but when it comes to make-up I do my own thing, sort of!! I don't change up a whole lot on that! I don't get my nails done, but I do my own pedicures & my toes are ALWAYS polished!

I do have a lipstick thing, though!! At any given time you can count 4 or 5 lipsticks of various colors in my purse...and I wear them all!!! In my make-up desk I have a special box for nothing but lipstick, it holds about 25 tubes & it is FULL.

Oh, yeah, I have a hair thing, too!! What good is it if I can't have fun with it?? Right now I'm looking for an excuse to shave my head. I want to be able to say I did it just ONCE in my life!!! LOL

wackymom... here's a fun idea for your own lipstick case. Some makeup artists from New York gave me the idea years ago. Wal-mart or any discount store has little clear cases back in sporting goods (the fishing dept). They're made to hold flies. You take your old lipsticks when they get low... scoop them out into the plastic container... microwave for just a few seconds until they melt... let them cool and Voila!! You have a homemade lipstick pallet. Plastic containers for small spools of thread work too.

Ive never had my nails done but have been thinking about doing it lately...the only problem is...The peeps here that do them barely speak English! I like the rounded tips, not the square style, so would that be a French Manicure? Or do they call all of it French and you tell them "rounded or square"?
Someone told me when u go in the salon you just wiggle your fingers at them and they know what you want LOL!

Wacky...that is so strange, but I have always been intrigued by the idea of shaving my head! I wonder what we would look like??

Momof5...the French refers to the white tips on clear nails. You are just going to have to tell them what shape you want and pray they know enough English to get it right!!

Sorry I'm not that "in" with make-up trends. I don't even know how to put on eyeliner. I have been wearing the same shade of lipstick since I started wearing make-up. I have never had a pedicure. I haven't had my nails done since high school. I guess I'm a little low maintenance!

My whole big make-up thing is blush so I don't look dead. I've NEVER had a manicure or pedicure! I'm basically what you would call NO maintenance I guess. LOL

Wacky--Just DO it. I think it would be wonderful. How come we don't have more women shaving their heads? Men do it. Just think of how inspirational you would be for all those balding women out there. Start a trend!!

Momof5, I like them rounded too. If your nails are long enough, shape them the way you like them and then when you go in to have the tips put on tell them you want them just like you have them. French is white tips with a pink bed, American is an off-white tip with a more flesh-colored bed. I love french for summer, but I'm always happy to get back into the rich reads for winter.

Now I want to go get mine done. Shoot.

I'm fully embracing the new fall looks, especially in the evenings and for halloween as well. I even did a Smoky Eye tutorial on my blog: http://bionic-beauty.com/2007/10/08/bionics-smoky-eye-t
utorial/

Anyone doing any creative makeup for Halloween?
Cheers,
Bionic Beauty

Yea! I get to go back to my old red lipstick and nail polish? My daughter convinced me to change to a more subdued shade a couple years ago because I "was soooo out of style".

I anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and love being a part of the Fox 2 News Team. When I'm not anchoring the news, I'm trying to keep up with my two teenaged sons. (All the warnings about teenagers are true!) Just kidding, boys! I feel very fortunate to have such great kids... including my two step-daughters. My wonderful husband, who's also in the biz, is extremely talented and supportive of everything I do. I'm a huge animal lover. I have two dogs, a horse and a cockatiel. But, as a kid my pets included rabbits, goats, a racoon and a skunk! (I grew up in the Ozarks). I've traveled quite a bit, met with some famous celebrities and even been to a goat roping or two, so we have lots to blog about!
