The Fox 2 News Edge debuts this Sunday at 10 p.m. It will follow Fox 2 News at 9.  I'm excited about being part of the team bringing this new format to St. Louis viewers. It's another option at 10 p.m.  and the look and feel is very different. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Sandy - heyya....by just seeing that it's going to be on at the same time as the others means Fox 2 is playing follow the leader. The leader in this instance is any station carrying the 10pm news. Please be sure to have your staff dig and DIG deep for fresh news within that hour. Breaking news is what wins the crowd over. It's not necessarily the first reporting that breaking news but rather the first "accurate" report of it.

I watch the 9pm news because it's easier for me. Overall, Fox 2 has the best newscasts and thank the Lord you don't have "HDTV". Channel 5 messed that up from the beginning and it's been a huge joke since then. A movie in HDTV is much better than a short newscast.

Keep up the good work!

Traditionally, for the most part, change is "good"! Thank, you, Sandy for your enthusiasm and encouragement. There are so many of us devoted Fox2 fans, would think you can be fairly confident for positive ratings in the near future. From what has been divulged so far, it sounds as if the format is unique compared to competitive stations, so good luck! A lot of us, I'm sure, are looking forward to this combination of Hard News/Entertainment time.

This might be exactly what this channel needs to compete...I really enjoy the 5pm news, but 9pm is a little to early for me... I am usally ingulfed in a movie or sports event, and wind up watching 5, which stinks cuz I really don't like their weather person...Have a great day,and GOOD LUCK!!!

Sandy - I'm really looking forward to the new news broadcast at 10! Best of luck!

Just a couple of curiosity questions...

1. Will you be anchoring it solo?
2. Who will anchor on the weekends?

Looking forward to it! All the best!

Hey Nice Guy!
I will be anchoring. Plus, Charles Jaco will have an in depth look at the top story of the day and of course we'll have coverage from some of our great reporters. John Brown will be anchoring on Fridays and I'll be doing Sunday through Thursday (no Saturday newscast). Thanks for your words of encouragement!! Let me know what you think after Sunday's debut.

Sandy, I am so happy for you but unfortunately will never see you since I am in bed by 8, like all of us on the a.m. newscast. I know you will do amazing though because you are a class act! I thought you were going to be in filling for Margie during maternity leave again, guess not? If I am on vacation I will catch you :-)

Saw the new 10pm News Edge and noticed little news. Charles Jaco spoke with someone that needs to get some sleep and not run for President and heard "repetitive" stories that I saw at 9pm.

This cannot be a non-news program and has to have fresh stuff since 9pm. If you wanna survive the 10pm slot and be competitive with Channel 4 and 5 news - get your police scanners rolling for that "breaking news" story.

My take on the 10pm Edge (for news purposes) - I'll go to 4 or 5.

I enjoyed the new news broadcast personally. I thought it was fast-paced, and while yes some of the stories were repeats from the 9:00 a.m. broadcast, not all were. Ever watch the morning news? It's repeats at the top of every half hour. Keep up the great work, Sandy!

I anchor the 6 p.m. newscast and love being a part of the Fox 2 News Team. When I'm not anchoring the news, I'm trying to keep up with my two teenaged sons. (All the warnings about teenagers are true!) Just kidding, boys! I feel very fortunate to have such great kids... including my two step-daughters. My wonderful husband, who's also in the biz, is extremely talented and supportive of everything I do. I'm a huge animal lover. I have two dogs, a horse and a cockatiel. But, as a kid my pets included rabbits, goats, a racoon and a skunk! (I grew up in the Ozarks). I've traveled quite a bit, met with some famous celebrities and even been to a goat roping or two, so we have lots to blog about!
