Life Is a Gift

Today before you say an unkind word -

Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life -
Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children -
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep -
Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job -
Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -
Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER.

And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down -
Put a smile on your face and thank GOD you're alive and still around.

GOD BLESS

History of the Easter Egg:

To keep a Christian perspective of Easter in your home, please note the following research that can help you explain the history of the Easter egg to your children.

The earliest Christian history of the Eater egg tradition is found approximately 50 years after Jesus’ resurrection. Bright red-colored eggs were simply exchanged as gifts as a symbol of continuing life and Christ’s resurrection. The red color was an intentional Christian tradition commemorating the blood of Christ. The red Easter eggs in Christian history were originally used when two friends met on Easter day. They two friends would know to tap their eggs together and one would greet the other with the words, “Christ is Risen!” and the other would respond, “Christ is Risen Indeed!” Then the eggs were eaten in fellowship.

During the Reformation, the church instituted the custom of breaking the Lenten fast with hard-boiled eggs. The eggs were brought to the Easter morning service, and the priest blessed them saying, “Lord, bless these eggs as a wholesome substance, eaten in thankfulness on account of the resurrection of our Lord.”

Our main focus must always be that our children meet Jesus in a personal way. If an Easter egg will bring Jesus alive to a child as a symbolic illustration, we should rejoice in the revelation of Jesus and his Resurrection to our children!

GOD BLESS

FACE IT:

GOD IS THERE FOR ALL MANKIND.

Nobody owes you a living, What you achieve, or fail to achieve in your lifetime, is directly related to what you do, or fail to do.

No one chooses his parents or childhood, but you can choose your own direction. Everyone has problems and obstacles to overcome, but that,

too, is relative to each individual.

You can change anything in your life, if you want to badly enough.

Excuses are for losers: Those who take responsibility for their actions are the real winners in life.

Winners meet life's challenges head on, knowing there are no guarantees, and still give it all they got. And never think it's too late or too early to begin.

Time plays no favorites and will pass whether you act or not.

Take control of your life.

Dare to dream and take risks , compete.

If you are not willing to work for your goals, don't expect others to.

God Bless

One year ago .................

I started my journey into blogging , First I was just reading them and I felt as if I was  spying because I did not contribute.

I was in fact going through one of the most difficult times in my life at the time. My brother started to succumb to cancer that he had bravely been battling for over a year. Having never been married or having any children, My wife and I decided that the best thing would be for him  to come live with us.

As he became weaker in body, He became STRONGER in his faith in God. This was not unusual for him because he was always teaching about God through his words and example. Now at his moment of death his was teaching me... how to be a better Christian by showing me  his unwavering faith and his constant strength. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was a young man but this was inspiring in every way....

Could I ever be this Faithful ?

During this time, I did indeed have many times that I was saddened to the point of despair, but not because of my lack of faith, but because I was losing my brother , teacher, confidant and my friend.

So after months of being home , Blogging became my way to keep up with the outside world and a way for me to voice my own opinion on various  topics and  current events. I have always been pretty opinionated, so it worked for my personality, But " what do I call myself ?"----  Well I have so many ways I could go with this I thought to myself, because I have many interests.

Then in the grimace of pain I heard my brother say "Thank you Jesus".... and I thought , What a faithful Servant of Christ he is !

So to keep me in "check" with some of my opinions and to honor my brother I chose my name "SERVANT OF CHRIST".

He passed in May and the tears still often flow , and I ache to see him again ....... With Faith ....... I know I will.

 I LOVE YOU BROTHER !

God Bless
