Ok people lets hear it BLOGGERS and BLOGGERETS?????     First of all, if you should talk on your phone pull over excluding certain cercunstance. (Like an accident or something on that level, maybe someones following you and may cause you harm etc.) But because you think Young and The Restless was good yesterday. NO! PULL OVER!!!  Talking with a head phone is no better or safer than talking with a cell phone pressed against your brains (yes I said brains, most people who think they can talk on the cell phone while driving on a 55 mph highway think they have two brains. )  Most people only use a pea size of their brain. So if you talk on the phone while driving, there you have it, the pea size of  your brain you use is all in use and guess what happens when your mind loses control??? It loses sight and stupidity sets in as your equilibrium sways off causing you to become equal to a drunk driver with an alcohol level of point 260. Yes lethal and deadly. Cell phones should be treated like firearms and only used in an emergency while driving other wise PULL OVER!!!!

I agree and I have used my cell phone while driving when I first got one and realized I just can't do it. I almost got hit one day downtown farmington because someone was talking on their cell phone and drove right through a pedestrian crossing. They should be outlawed.

Always avoid using it when driving, and if a call comes in, will normally tell them will call back after reaching the desination, unless it's just a quick message or an emergency. Would avoid pulling over if not necessary, since that can be another risk, esp. on a hwy.

I cant talk on the cell phone and drive at the same time. When my phone rings I dont answer it. Whoever is calling me can wait til I get where I am going. I dont want to injure myself nor someone else, due to a call that isnt that important! I see people people talking on cell phones and they cant drive for the life of them. And they surely dont care about other drivers around them. At least I can say I cant talk and drive at the same time.....on a cellphone that is!

Just about everyone I talk to is against using a cell phone while driving. Yet, when you drive down the road, I'll bet AT LEAST 30% of the people you see around you are on the phone while driving. Are some people just being hipocritical?

I'm like that...I really hate seeing so many drivers blabbing on the phone but I'm guilty of it too. I stay within my lanes and maintain the same speeds as before the cell chirped.

Just ask the young gal at the Valvoline Instant Oil Change about using a cell phone while pulling into the stall. LOL - she'll NEVER do that again. Her car missed and sort of ... dropped! She had to pay for 2 tow trucks to pick her up and move her back.

Exersizer, which do you believe in? Safety or corporate greed! I haven't seen any cops talking on cell phone while driving. I feel safer with someone on the cell phone when they are the bus or MetroLink. The downside to talking on cell phones on MetroLink is that when you are the phone and you go into tunnels you can loose your signal depending on your phone.

One of the biggest violators of driving and talking on cellulars is law enforcement. If you haven't seen this happening in your area then either you don't get out much or you have poor cell reception and they just don't do it.

It's happening all the time in Illinois and until it becomes illegal for ALL drivers - it'll continue to happen for them ... and myself.

In Kirkwood, I have never seen a police officer use his cell phone while driving at least in Kirkwood. AnswerMan, you need to tell the truth. I may have to pop your fantasy land. Time for you to come out of your fantasy world.

When it comes to driving while talking on those phones, you need your left hand to operate the turn signal lever. And I see lots of people turning while not signaling as well. If you drive a stick-shift, you need one hand on the wheel while the other hand operates the shift lever. And if you are on the phone, and you have to shift, you could loose control of the car while trying to shift due to that you have one hand holding the phone while the other is doing the shifting.

Yeah, I agree with ya brainhead - I was ironically in Kirkwood today and saw a cop using his phone while his squad car was rolling. I even witnessed a St. Louis County officer using one too - while driving. It does happen a lot with all people, all jobs, all the time. I agree with the troubles of shifting - fix that via an automatic.

At least we can count our blessings that the police cars are automatics. However, for people who veel that they have to be on the cell phone while in motion, there is Call-a-Ride service. They will go into areas where the bus doesn't go. Guys, you have seen the Call-a-Ride number hundreds of times each time you go to my blog. For goodness sake, use it!

These trees around here might make a tasty soup.
