With all the devistation some familes are looking to relocate.Maybe they can look into states that have a high amount of abandoned houses that are now bank owned.Such As Saint George Utah. There is almost 15,000 homes vacant. It is less than 90miles from Las Vages which has many jobs available, also has a large amount of homes to offer. This could help both the people who lost everything and start fresh.I think  the goverment should look into helping with relocating familes that want a fresh start. This would benefit both people and the communties. What do U think!

Bottom line is if the insurance company will not sell flood insurance for a home in the location you want to build in or buy one in, you should not do it. Flood plains are there for a reason. That water cant just keep going up. The Mississippi is not the United States ditch. But that is what we have made it.

There is plenty of homes for sale in St. Louis right now either ready to move in or in need of some love. Unless you have to live out in a rural area with the gas prices, I think people should concider returning to the city. I would love to have some new neighbors in these "For Sale" homes in South City!!!

Moving to an area of the contry that has a lot of foreclosed homes because no one can get or keep a job does not make sense.

As far as moving to Las Vegas, soon that area will feel the blow from the economy when people can't afford to travel or go on vacation for the next few years until we get a grasp on this economy.

Sorry but most flood victims tend to rebuild on the same site, or as close as possible, and wait for FEMA to come to their rescue. Take the case in California where a house on the Russian River that was valued at around $300K had been rebuilt with checks from FEMA totaling close to $900K. If these people are too dumb to move then we should stop helping pay for their losses.
