Well considering they did not open the poll where I vote until 6:10am and then there weren't many people before me but I waited at least 1/2 hour to get to a voting station.

I waited only about 5 minutes. My line (according to last name) only had one person in it. The other line was about 25 people long.

I walked right in and voted with no wait.

I had to wait for one person in front of me to sign in, then I had to wait in line for about 30 minutes for the electronic voting machines ... but I wanted to use them!

I was surprised to see only 4 machines for two precincts, but there was plenty of room at the tables to complete the paper ballots.

There were a blind guy and lady at the poll voting ... the electronic machines have headphones so they can listen to the ballot ... it was cool! (I don't think they had a fast forward however, the lady complained about how long it took with so many judges LOL!)

The younger people zipped right through on the electronic machines, especially when they already knew how they would vote.

I live in the city and we had some weird issues I never heard any press on, so you could see when voters reached those, because they looked completely puzzled. The wording was legal, so it was hard to understand exactly what the ballot was asking ...

... which leads to BE PREPARED WHEN YOU VOTE ... KNOW THE ISSUES!!!

*BEFORE* you go to the polls, look up the ballot on your city of county Web site, use the You Decide 2006 Voter's Guide to find those links ... use the League of Women Voters ... read the paper ... go somewhere!

Don't make people get frustrated at the polls because you didn't know what would be on the ballot!

OK, I'm done now ... happy voting all!

I had to wait an hour and 45 minutes only to find that the station only had 3 electronic machines & 8 paper stations.... not enough to handle the amount of people assigned to vote at this station. I later learned 3 other stations in the area were no longer open so people had been reassigned to my station which explains the lines, but come on... get more machines/stations!!!
