Rich_Murphy's Blog

Last Post 5 hours Ago

Walking to the Metro the other day, something caught my eye on the side of a Ride-On bus.
In a country where many people don't get involved, keep up with the news or vote who would go to the effort to do this on the side of a bus?  Stuff like this makes me wonder.

You would have to think about it, get one of those things that prints out labels and get close enough to the bus to put the sticker on.

What about the bus driver? Does no one check the bus or inspect? I have seen this particular bus, # 5561, on 2 different days and the sticker is still in place.

What is the point of this post??

I would think all the gang signs and grafitti all over the place would concern you more than someonewith a sense of humor popping a sticker on a bus advertisement.

Instead of running up to the bus and snapping photos, WHY DIDN'T YOU ASK THE DRIVER YOURSELF??

Rich:

See what happens when people let their dogs of its leash, wow, can someone please call the pound as there is a stray dog on the loose and I am certain he needs to be contained or stick a bone in his mouth to shut him up! Anyway, I thought it was quite funny that this sign would be on a bus, especially a Ride On bus.

Nevertheless, it is clear to the average person (pun intended) that you are relaying the fact that this sign was so conspicuous that many overlooked the walker being hit and spilling his coffee.

Dog without a Bone:

Why is it that you must constantly cruise this site to demean others for what they post but on the same token, you block many from your blogs. Is it that you cannot take what you dish out, please go play with that bone you buried years ago as you are letting your feelings get caught up and they will get hurt if you do not be careful. This is so juvenile and no, I am not saying just you, but me as well since I keep indulging you. However, the difference between you and I is that I do not demean everyone, just you usual suspects. Call me an equal opportunity offender and right now, I am and always will be the throne in your side. Do you think your post was wrong, well I do which is why I voiced my opinion? One good turn deserves another and you really need to stop, at least I will keep bugging you until you do.

Bits & Rich:

He (R-Dog) needs to be labled as an "Internet Blog Terrorist" and shipped down to Guantanamo to await trial along with his other cohorts...

You are being too kind in your thoughts as Guantanamo is to nice and comfy for stray dogs!

I didn't have to run up to the bus. I have a zoom lens.
I'm just an avid observer of the world around me.

Amazing what happens when you don't spend all your time slamming people on blogs.

My question here is, what was the message of the poster/picture on the bus BEFORE the 'sign' was added? It looks like some punkarsed laughing fools running down an innocent pedestrian, What kind of entertainment or message is that? Screw the 'Damn, I spilled my coffee' sticker. Where are the priorities here?

Rich:

I see [in your Bio] you've covered Presidential campaigns in the past. You might want to get the lead scoop on this debate because; I feel they'll probably put hand-cuffs on John McCain and Sarah Palin for attempting to impersonate a politician and lead them off the stage...

Seems to me that Red Dog commented on the blog, and the others (LineB, Lilbits, Rich Murphy), above commented on him. Bias? Rich?

Isn't that just what Lilbits has been complaining about? Something about the messengers?

Starrman1 seems cool.

KnoxElder, from what I can see of the poster in the above pictures is the obvious pleasure of some jerks in a car running down another human being. Hasn't Metro already got enough BAD drivers? This is just sad, and not even the least bit funny at all.

Knoxelder

It appears that you did not read my comments fully, as I simply asked the Dog without a bone why he must cruise the site demeaning others for what they post. Now, since Dog has been doing this mess for a while and I have gotten tired well, I have taken it upon myself to let me be the last one the usual suspects do this to, as I stated, I will be a throne in his side until he stops. If one can do it to another, then others have the right to reciprocate. As you can see, I am not the only one tired of these Internet Bullies and it seems as though you want to put yourself in that category, please, I beg you, do not do that as it would prove to be the wrong move.

Starrman:

I do not think it was meant to be funny but more to bring awareness to us that we sometimes miss the obvious, would you agree?

BTW: I saw another bus (5565) at the Metro this morning with the same sticker.
Seems like this is a serial sticker poster!

Hey Rich:

Is it quite possible that this could be someone looking for attention, or someone playing a joke on the bus company? As the latter would seem to be the answer to me as you pointed out in your original post, "Does no one check the bus or inspect?", just maybe the person behind this sticker mess is trying to shed light on the fact that these buses aren't being inspected, would you agree?

Rich_murphy, fine example of being the web supervisor of FOX.

I think you should add bias to your profile too.

Lilbits you say you will keep bugging me??

So your threatening me? Isn't that a violation of the TOS?

I hope you don't go and post 2000+ replies with similar racial slurs and death threats on any of my blogs like you recently have on others.

Wouldn't one think being called an internet terrorist a violation of the TOS??

I like how I posted on the thread and even the Senior web producer finds violations of the TOS acceptable in his own blog.

I'm Rich Murphy, the Senior Web Producer for myfoxdc.com.I've done just about every job in a TV newsroom on my way to this new position of Senior Web Producer. For 15 years, starting in 1984, I carried a video camera on my shoulder and around the world. Most of my career has been spent in Tampa with a 3 year stint from 87-89 in Charlotte. Moving up the ranks from editor to photojournalist allowed me to experience things most people only get to watch on TV. I have tried to take that experience through my stints as Chief Photojournalist, Assignment Editor, Field Producer, Reporter, Executive Producer of Special Projects and Managing Editor to contribute to news coverage that resonates with viewers. I have covered big events like the San Francisco Earthquake, Hurricane Andrew, Presidential Campaigns, Political Conventions, Woodstock (the 20th anniversary, not the original!) Johnny Carson's last week on TV and roamed the sidelines for Buccaneers and Gator games. But meeting the people affected by the news has always been the best part of the job. I have always felt being exposed to all the triumphs and tragedies of people helps me better understand the type of genuine stories that viewers respond to. I believe the web is where people will be going to get the news that connects to their lives, on their schedule. We hope myfoxdc.com will be your first stop as you look for those stories.
