Are there any renters out there who are experiencing difficulty with FEMA awarding them money for damages?
We lost quite a few items in University City and have provided documentation from the landlord and we still are being denied. I am currently appealing it but just wondered if anyone else was having a problem in other surrounding areas?
Thanks!

Sounds like this attorney could have a side no one knew about at work. What a shame!

I want to know if anyone else has had this problem.
I applied for a part time position with a prominent local bank and passed the background and fingerprint check with no problem.
The bank called me yesterday and said I had previously worked for a predecessor bank in 1998 and the manager marked the box "not eligible for rehire". It says I left for personal reasons which is true, I was from Indiana and my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer and I had to return to Indiana to care for her and I explained to the young supervisor these circumstances and he said to me, not a problem, family is important. I even gave a two week notice. I explained I had no idea, being from Indiana, I had even worked for a predecessor bank and the recruiter said that was not a problem, it was the code the previous manager placed on my file.
Since he coded me as "not eligible for rehire", so now I cannot work for the bank.
I am really frustrated because I went to two interviews, passed the background check and fingerprint check and now this!
The frustrating thing is it says I left for personal reasons but I don' t understand why I would be coded not eligible for rehire. I went to that job everyday and performed the data entry tasks required. The bank is not able to provide me with the name of the supervisor so I can speak with him/her to find out why I would have been coded that way and they have no record of my attendance which would show I was not a "bad" employee. I was told if this supervisor is no longer employed with the bank, this code can never be removed from my file.
I am not sure if I was a supervisor and after nine (9) years, as large as this bank is, I could remember all of my employees. I think the only way I would remember an employee from that long ago, would be if that employee was a really, really bad employee who did things that everyone would remember. I definitely would have noted all of the "bad" things he/she did so there would be no questions later.
The person I spoke with in their Advising Counsel department is wanting me to provide them with information but I told him the burden of proof would be on the bank, not me.
They have nothing to substantiate this code and I just wondered if anyone else had any ideas or suggestions on how I can get this corrected or resolved.
I go to work as scheduled daily and I don't quit jobs without notice and I feel I am entitled to this job because I have met all the other requirements. I called the supervisor I interviewed with and she suggested I call the Corporate office and explain my situation and see if they can assist me so I am doing that today.
Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated.
Thanks!

Ok, does anyone have or know of where we could get a dependable cheap car for our daughter who currently attends college and is pregnant?? She has been robbed once in November 2006 and it was reported to the proper authorities but she has become a little apprehensive about her night classes and we are not always available due to our hours for employment. She does ride Metro but her classes are at night and she works during the day in an attempt to remain self sufficient.
Any suggestions would be helpful or any leads would be appreciated of you can call 314-413-1603 if you or someone youk now has a reliable automobile for sale. Ideally, it would be a car that possibly your grandparents owned and no longer need and it must have an automatic transmission because she does not know how to drive a 4 or 5 spd manual transmission.
All help is appreciated.
Thanks!!

OK,
What happened to tracing an I.P. address? The authorities can track any and everything so why not the IP address.?
It is my understanding this is what they would "normally" do if there is any suspiciion of fraud or any other type of illegal activity.
Comments please.

I was under the impression on Friday, Geoff Hadler was interviewed as the individual who contacted the Kirkwood police regarding this strange vehicle.
Now the Kirkwood police officers are taking credit for the arrest of Michael Devlin!!!
I think this is so totally unfair to Geoff.
Without Geoff's information, they would have never been able to arrest anyone!! I also commend Ben's friend for giving such a good description of the vehicle.
I say hats off to Geoff not the Kirkwood police.

Does anyone else think it is strange that Shawn Hornbeck never tried to escape from this "kidnapper"?
He was 11 years old in 2002 and now he is 15 and he never tried to escape...something seems strange to me.. This kidnapper is a convicted sex offender. There is no telling what he did to both of these boys.
I'm glad they were located but I think there is more to this than meets the eye.

I met a 27 year old woman yesterday and she has obtained a decent job but cannot obtain a checking account and she said she does not want the prepaid mastercard or visa due to the fees they charge monthly. She said she was tired of paying all of bills by money orders and having to ride the bus or ask her grandparents to take her to go cash her check here and there. She said she abused credit at an early age and is now suffering the consequences as well.
I am interested in starting a credit union or working with one of the local banks to implement a "second chance" opportunity for persons who have charged off checking accounts due to them being overdrawn for whatever the reason may be.
I would like to work out a plan where they would pay their overdrawn account off over time but still have an "open" account with my bank, credit union, or department. I would ensure their previous financial institution was repaid as well.
I feel alot of the people who have ran into this problem need someone to take them under their wing and work with giving them the opportunity to get on the right financial path and explain how important it is to manage your money correctly.
I'd also like to offer them the opportunity to obtain a credit card with a small balance as low as $200.00 so they can begin to improve their credit scores. I would even offer small loans as well. After several months of their account, credit card and/or loan being in good standing, we would increase their credit limit slowly.
I realize people are adults but I am sure some of them were never told about the importance of good credit and handling your finances.
I do not know the agenda of the local schools (county or city) because I do not have any children attending but it would be nice to know if they have a program that allows the child to understand the importance of having a savings account or etc. I know parents can open accounts for their children but I feel the majority of people who experience banking difficulties do not come from that typical family background.
I realize it would be a risk but all businesses take risks but this may be a higher risk than normal but worth it in the long run.
I was at Wal-mart the other day and noticed so many people standing in line cashing checks and it made me think, what if they all had checking accounts and/or check cards? How much more convenient it would be.
I had a previous bank location selected in North County but I drove by yesterday and they had leveled the building to my surprise. What a shock!! Apparently, I need to get our more often. LOL!!
If I take two steps, would you take one to help?
Your comments/suggestions are appreciated.

I wonder if anyone is experiencing difficulty in being hired due to their credit report.
I recently had four (4) interviews at the same company for an accounting position and they all went well until my credit report was ran. Unfortunately, I was not hired. I do not have any felonies and have never been involved in any litigation with regards to mismanagement of funds.
With that thought in mind, I see where the CFO of Moore Auto Group embezzeled more than 2.4 million dollars from 1998 through 2005. I bet she had good credit.
Look at the Enron coporation. I bet they had good credit too.
It appears having good credit goes hand in hand with a CRIMINAL mind.
Having good credit does not always mean you have selected the best candidate. Sometimes, the best candidates, like myself, are never selected.
