Another short period of hail at 8:31. The first period was right at the front edge of the heavy rain and the second was in the core. No big deal.

Peagcu, what are your thoughts on our chances of seeing organized severe weather later on this afternoon/night? Hope this doesn't end up like the past 4storms and we get nothing......

I think we have a real good shot at severe weather late today. We are not going to be dealing with any lingering sratus today to mess things up and the front's timing is later than most systems we have had this year.

We've got some trailing stuff here on the south end of this. looks like some quick hits of moderate to heavy showers down here in Monroe county.

My big brave Pit bull won't leave my side. He doesn't like thunder and he really didn't like all that wind Sunday. He's really a good dog. Poor guy was shaking like a leaf earlier. He was breathing so rapidly before I thought he was gonna hyperventilate.

looks like we have one more shot at rain here. I expect we should clear by noon easily. Gonna need some decent winds to bring up the moisture needed for the PM storms. seems winds are picking up over cental and SW MO.

Actually looks like this front may be coming in a bit too late for us to get the severe stuff. We may get some heavy rain though. Never rule that out for this area the way things have been going.

Getting some hefty rain amounts. Parts of Randolph county are approaching 3 inches and there are many other areas over one inch today.

Now there are storms coming from N of Columbia. If they develop southward as they did earlier today we will be in for another round of storms shortly after noon. It's thundering here again and looks like things have been about training over Randolph county. there just seems to be so much instability today.

Now parts of randolph have passed three and four inches are likely in some areas of that county and a small part of St Gen county. Looks like the heaviest rain has been just N of Evansville IL.

The show continues. More cells breaking out in STL county and Franklin county. I expect storms to become more numerous over the next 4-6 hours. Looks like a real wet afternoon. The atmosphere seems to be sooooo unstable.

Finally the showers and thunderstorms that were training over the same areas are finally moving their way out of the area. Im just waiting for them to enter marion county. And hopefully get some sun out for some evening re-developement. Maybe severe. What do you think peagcu? I've been watching this all day.....
