According to the Farmers Almanac, we will see our share of snow this winter. Now I am more than curious when we will see the first major snowfall in the St. Louis Metro area. So come on guys, Help Me Out!! Give me some opinions! Let's see who comes close to the date that we get a 3 plus inch snowfall. My guess will be around Thanksgiving, but that is just a guess! All opinions on the date must be be posted by Saturday, October 25th at midnight. Lets see who our best snow predictor is!
And.... Chris, if you read this, please make your prediction too. This will be fun! I also encourage Angela, Dave, Glen, and Mark to join the fun!!!
Just a little information on weather radios:
I have several weather radios. Radio shack carries a seven channel weather radio with a severe weather alert. This is an electric radio with the battery backup, which is a must have, due to the power outages in severe weather. I also have the Oregon Scientific NOAA weather radio, that is a hand held portable. It also has the severe weather alert on it. It works out nicely if you are outdoors and do not have access to any radios or tv. I have taken this one in the vehicle with me when on trips or etc. It is battery operated only. We also have a CB in our vehicle with a weather alert on it now. The CB does not have to be on for this alert to go off, no matter where you are travelling, and when it goes off you will definately hear it, even when loud music is playing.
Just thought I would throw out a few ideas for anybody that is considering purchasing this item as there are quite a few options out there, and may help you find one to suit your needs, whether indoors, outdoors, driving, boating, camping, or etc.
Hope to have been of some help. Have fun shopping!!!
