The world's biggest discount retailer is changing its famous logo and how the company spells its name. Wal-Mart will now be Walmart (no hyphen). And the star is going away too and will be replaced by a starburst.

The Wall Street Journal obtained a mockup of the new logo which is to be unveiled next week. But here's a preview, thanks to our friends at myFOXPhilly.com:

Well I alway's spell it Walmart. But don't like the sun burst but what I can't do nothin' about that. But they sure know how to was money for new sign's. Not gonna help business as they really don't have any competition down this way.

I buy everything from Wally World except my cars and home. Until something is done with this terrible economy then my main priority is me saving tons of cashola.

Hey Danny - what's up? Yeah, the high end pay for their execs is astonishing but the store managers work 55 to 70 hours per week.

I'd shop Target if their prices were lower and they had groceries. Hey, their clientele base is a lot HOTTER!

the home depot has put the the mom and pop hardware stoes out of business and the advance auto parts has put a crimp in the small auto parts sales. it is a growing trend.

Schnucks and Dierberg put mom and pop out of business a long time ago.

But they are both union so I guess that makes mom and pops suffering ok.

They also buy stuff from china and mexico just like Walmart all the time which I guess is still ok as long as they are union.

Hate to break this news to some people but the union leaders and big wigs pull in some pretty sweet cash. All from the pockets of good americans. Weird how its ok if they do it.

In my hometown if you don't buy your groceries at Wal Mart, you're gonna go broke! The other grocery store we have is a Frick's and the new owners have jacked the prices WAY up. It's unreal. We have an Aldi's but I generally don't carry cash and do not own a debit card, so it's Wal mart for us.

Walmart is what is wrong this country. They pay their workers BOOGEDY but their head honchos are some of the richest people in the world. This company sucks rotten eggs. Their new logo should read "Walmart we sell BOOGEDY and pay our workers BOOGEDY."

That new logo will look awesome on the letter they send denying their employees health insurance and suggesting they go to the government for their healthcare.

Why don't people understand that paying 88 cents for a jug of shampoo comes at a price??

And Target does sell groceries, btw.

Also, they're spending untold millions of dollars to change this logo, a change that means absolutely nothing. Wow, it looks slightly different oh boy, what a gdamn joke! God forbid they use that money and give it to their employees who really need it. These idiots pay minimum wage to do construction work setting up a new store. I helped set up the store in Union and got paid $6 an hour for real construction work that should be paid 15-20 an hour. They just screw mom and pop stores over and screw their employees over unless you become a "walmart automoton" and wotk there all you life then the retirement is good but you have live thru 30 years of being paid BOOGEDY and being treated like BOOGEDY.
