I've been through my fair share of water bottles, and I can say with confidence that because of this new one I received today, I feel like I can get back on my diet and fitness program and drink my gallon of water like my trainer says! I'm telling ya, this bottle is THE BEST.

I know water bottles aren't the biggest concerns we have in this world today, but it's been bugging me for over 2 years now, and I could never find the one that works for me. Problems I had before:
  • Too big for cup holders (cars and treadmills)
  • Needed to be 32oz (which is a quart, so 4 fillups a day)
  • Leaked around the cap, which is bad if you have flavored water
  • Sucking through straw sounded like I was using a bong in the office
  • Constantly twisting off and on the lid to the bottle
  • Not being able to carry it easily...not having a handle
  • It wasn't dishwasher safe, so some parts of the bottle would "smell"

"So, tell me Patrick...what is this new bottle the angels brought to you from Heaven??" Ok ok, please know I'm not here to advertise...I'm just excited and needed a place to vent in a positive way, and if anyone has the same problem, I bring you the solution.

It's from a company called Camelbak. I wish it could find it in stores here, but no luck. I think I got it on Amazon.

No leaks, nice straw, 32 ounces, nifty handle, dishwasher safe, tall and slender for fitting in cupholders easily...and after trying and buying way too long, I'm done. Yippie.

Your not supposed to drink the bong water! LOL
Just kidding! From previous manufacturing experiance. The clear version of the FOX2 white coffee mugs you guys used to give away with the Thomas coffee in the A.M. years ago where made by the advertising specialty manufacturing company I worked for. The clear got spidering cracks in the high heat dry cycle on the dish water. They where made from acrylic. The ones you all had where white and made of polypropylene. It does not show up until a dozen washes or so. Hope your is a blend. Looks cool!!

Does it sweat? I like the double lined ones that don't. I always have a 32oz of ice water with me. I am gonna look for this : )

Wild..i guess we're just OLD. Dang...i can remember my mom putting water in a quart mason jar with ice cubes for dad and i to take to the field. I even helped on some thrashing crews, where they used the gallon jugs. Then we moved up in the water with the new flangled water jugs. And now this! WOW.. but then who ever thought we'd pay money to buy water either. But i'm just old fashion....still take a water jug with me on the hot days when i go shoeing. Guess i'm too old to change!!!!!

I keep gallon bottles of true spring water in the fridge and use a glass. On the run I drink FIJI water. All others taste funny to me. Tap water taste fishy to me. Containers can effect taste. Only way to know is to try it.

St. Louis tap water is supposedly one of the best in the country! I remember living in Florida in the '80s and no way could you even drink it-(had water delivered and/or bought from the grocery store.) You could shower with it but reeked of sulphur and made everything turn orangey-brown. Could not even wash clothes or run the dishwasher without that turning in color. I'm sure there's been some improvement since then, but then my sister's boyfriend in FL today works delivering water...(Sorry-not in the greatest mood either this morning! lol)

Thee water in Los Angelas was slightly milky and taste so bad I did not even cook with it. I had a cooler with 5 gallon bottles delivered weekly. Most people did and that was the mid 80's. In Europe its high lime and minerals and you have to boil it before you drink it in most places or you get digestive distresses.

OK, well after a weekend of use, I have one complaint about the bottle. When you flip up the straw too fast, the water will shoot out like a sprinkler...and if you have sugar-free koolaid in it (like I normally do), that really sucks.

Sooo, although not quite the bottle from Heaven, I'm still glad I use it. I just need to slow down when opening.

And I got the bottle from altrec.com. HERE'S THE LINK. It was $13.95

Yep, the Fiji brand is best. But I like tap water and it's damn good thing because I drink over a gallon a day. The problem with that bottle shown is the plastic affects the taste and it contains what, only 24 ounces? I'll stick with my 52-ounce container.

BTW I'd like to know how your 40lb weight loss is progressing. Are you still in semi-quit mode -- yo-yo-ing off and further off, then somewhat back on, then back off, etc?

Cheetah: Yep, a constant struggle, but haven't stopped going to the gym. It's a good habit now.

Good! It's a constant struggle for anyone in pursuit of that goal...so kudo's to you for sticking with the exercise [as a trainer I can attest that the exercise is the key; the #1 most important aspect for taking it off and sustaining that outcome long-term]...there are worse habits, blogging for example lol

Thanks Cheetah. And once Spring hits, I'm looking forward to getting outside and running. This ugly weather has got to stop

Agreed! Having to be inside 24 x 7 sucks. And there is nothing quite like outdoor exercise, esp running.

After all my troubles with the water bottle squirting everywhere, I realized that I took the cap off the tip! I had no idea. Now it's a perfect water bottle. DUH!
