As reported on FOX 2: "St. Louis takes the top spot when it comes to two common sexually transmitted diseases. A CDC report shows St. Louis leads the nation in infection rates for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Nearly 7,500 cases of the two diseases were reported last year. City health officials met to figure out what to do about the growing problem. Nationally, the number of diagnosed cases of Chlamydia topped 1 million last year...the highest ever. "

We almost got the hat trick...although Syphilis wasn't even close.

Here's the complete report from the CDC.

What has happened to values in our young people?

You found someone you want to date? Do you have to put out for them? NO! Get to know each other and have a commitment before you share yourself. Once you get to know this person, you may not want to spend your life with them afterall. Don't be played for a fool! And for God's sake, don't even think about bringing an innocent baby into this world unless you have established a solid relationship (marriage).

Bottom Line..RESPECT YOURSELF!!!!

The "old school rule" works just fine.

If they demand it right away, they will end up going astray!

I'm curious what ever happened to good old fashioned MORALS?

When me and my wife met, we didn't go to "the next level" until our wedding night, and not a minute before. We'd dated for a year, and was engaged to be married the next year. Trust me, it's worth the wait, and it's worth both being "pure" for each other.

this is really horrible. as people period we make mistakes and really as teens but the mind set of "screw anything with a pulse and some without" is what spreading this. it was once upon a time where being married meant something but now the married ones are the ones holding the std the longest due to thinking being married is the cure all. it not that how you all end up with aids and dl husbands. but these kids need to learn how not to use their body for love and learn how to read and excel in school.

This is sad and the anwser is abstinence but with school wanting to give out birth control, sex on tv's and in magazines what do people think will happen? Parents talk to your kids, I have and I will say it wasn't an easy thing for me to do. I also had the doctor talk to my teenager. I just hope we got through to him. Its a scary world out there.

I have a 15 year old daughter in high school. I do want her to practice abstinece, but I know what she is up against with the high school social scene. I tell her about sex and what she may encounter from sneaky boys as well as girls that have gone there and want to drag her into it. I also keep my line of communication open with her. She tells me things most kids would not tell their parents. I think sex education is a very important tool and both abstinece and safe sex should be taught both in school and from parents.
