Here are two versions of the song "My Humps". Black Eyed Peas had a hit first, then Alanis Morissette followed. Take a look at the two versions below...

Alanis Morissette's version of "My Humps" (which is psychotically WEIRD, yet funny)

...and the original version by the Black Eyed Peas.

Alanis had a hand in changing the face of rock and inspiring young artists to follow in her footsteps in creating music that touches the soul.

Fergie wrote a song about her boobs and made a ton of money.

Who is the REAL artist here?

I was shocked when I heard the Alanis song. I really dislike this song (most likely because one of my male co-workers is always singing it) but when I heard it sang by Alanis, I started to find the beauty in it. It's just sooooo funny!

Patrick I am surprised you could put this song on a blog considering what it is about and the words in it.
I like Alanis she kinda reminds me of Janis Joplin who I really like.

OK OK OK!!!! Patrick, I am a hard core music lover and eclectic. I listen to everything and have over a thousand Cd's and I have 1900 songs on I-tunes. I love Alannis Morissette. However, I hate this song! I will stick with the Black Eyed Peas version. It is much better.....

The Alanis version is just creepy. I'll stick with the Black Eyed Peas version and get my dance on. :-)

The answer to the OP's question:

Neither.

They both stink.

Patrick you come up with the most interesting blogs....Love it! Well, lets see... Alanis is just very different, but yet she gives the song a deeper meaning, (as deep as you can get with this song)! Well the song is really all about some chick, the boobs, and the idiot men she surrounds herself with.

My favorite part is when Alanis upper cuts the dude right in the gut! Right on! There is the real art! LOL

Peace out baby! ~J<3

Black Eyed Peas has a good beat.. I'll give it a 95 (my Bandstand days) Alanis sounds like she took a jagged little pill. I don't care for the lyrics but I do like the way her voice feels. Let me change the lyrics.. it would be perfect.

Interesting contrast! I've always loved artists who take a song with a simple cheap message and parody it to turn it into a meaningful statement! I've always liked most stuff by Alanis, but I had never heard this song or seen this video!

Very good.

I vote for Alanis! She is the true artist. Black Eyed Peas are just agents of pop commercialism.
