Anniversary of a Blood Oath

July 2nd 1776 , the actual day the Declaration of Independence was begun to be signed.  These Men in so doing, signed a Blood oath.  If they were ever captured by the British they would have been Hung.

These People lived comfortable lives, had Families and Homes and Businesses.  It would have been easier to go along to get along....but they put their Lives, the Lives of their Families and their Property in Peril for the Idea of Freedom.  An Idea that  is almost as Alien to Todays Citizens as the Internet would be to the Caveman.

The Citizens of this Country No longer Value Independence, Freedom or Property, but would rather surrender to the Will of Government.  In order to Protect the Same Things the Founding Fathers offered at the Altar of Freedom, Citizens today would rather Tolerate Intrusive, Oppresive and Overbearing Government.

Without Freedom...... what good is Life.  Without Freedom........ what good is it to have a family to run as you see Fit.  Without Freedom...........What Good is it to have all the Money and Property in the World.

The Founding Fathers Understood ...............That nothing else matters......

without Freedom....

Watch out what they have been doing in Illinois. Hussein wants the White House. People there cannot even protect themselves even if they wanted to.

These Patriots really did sign their death warrants had we lost..but they had the backbone to go for it...fight for our liberty and the freedom we take for granted..."Freedom is not Free"...one of my favorite quotes...

You are so right Patch. People, especially youNg folks, do not think about what this holiday is for even if they even paid attention to lean what it all means. OUR FREEDOM !!

In a perfect country the will of the Government and the will of the people would be the same. Why one should be worried about the will of the government is beyond me if that government is one implemented by the people for the people and of the people. Can anyone honestly say that the government we have now is the same that our founding fathers intended 232 years ago?

But History is Forgotten. Reasons for revolt have been sanitized and degraded.

They have changed this country and we have been too busy working and obtaining the latest and greatest to notice..

Only because more people are suffering we begin to look into why we are suffereing...

What we find we may not like.....but hte Question is...

Do we have the Courage to return it to what it is Supposed to be?

The curse of history is that it repeats itself...people have to experience misery to remember how good thay had it before....

"But war, in a good cause, is not the greatest evil which a nation can suffer. War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice – a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice – is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other." - John Stuart Mill
