In lieu of the media blackout of Ron Paul, I've decided to post a couple links below so that people can find out more about his stand on the issues.  If the major networks don't want to do their jobs, we must take it upon ourselves to disseminate all of the information so people can make informed choices.

Ron Paul seems like a good person and has proven that he can draw up financial support but I don't think he'll finish even 4th on the Elephants side. He could possibly make a great VP for McCain though.

As for the Donkey's side - Clinton will squeeze the numbers enough to win that nomination. Then, it's inevitable that the Democrats win. Too many people are fed up with the Republicans mainly the mentality of Bush.

LOL - true. The only thing that keeps jogging my memory of this guys success is the multi-million dollars snagged in just hours off the internet. We need him to be a part of the administration somewhere - somehow.

Ron Paul has gotten more coverage than any non Republican or Democratic Candidates. Those outside of these two parties get no coverage at all.

I will be voting Ron Paul tomorrow. I have liked him from the beginning. If it ame down to Ron Paul against Obama (which it won't) I don't know what I would do. The other night when the showed a rare clip of him talking at a republican debate, he blasted the republicans for supporting this war, pointing out all the wasted money and lives, and how the war was based on lies. McCain, Huckabee, and Romeny all sat thier and smiled as if he was indane. It told me more about them than anything I have ever seen.

I have heard him speak and seen his passion and drive. Usually candidates other than the popural handfull are usually called nuts , but thats just bias propoganda. From what I've seen I think I will vote Ron Paul. I allways vote for a good underdog, but they never win.

PSylvester20 my previous response was pure sarcasm.

It is a shame that all candidates cannot get the same amount of air time. But the ones who have the most money are the ones who get elected.

Yep...agree totally Snoop. Ron Paul should have been given the same treatment as McCain et al. It's amazing how the media (debates) coverage discriminated against Ron Paul. The guy would make a good member of the McCain administration though - he's great at raising money!

The following is Mr. Paul's take on animals. Horrible!

His terrible record in Congress:
Driven by attitude that the federal government should not play a role in
protecting animals from cruelty. Rep. Paul one of only 31 members of
U.S.
House of Representatives who voted against every single animal
protection
measure that came up for a vote in 2007.

Voted in March to keep federal penalties weak for dogfighting and
cockfighting... Voted in April against restoring decades-old protections
for
wild horses and burros, instead opting to let them be sold for
commercial
slaughter. Voted in June to allow wealthy American trophy hunters to
shoot
polar bears in the Arctic and bring their heads and hides back home...

It hasn't always been this way for Ron Paul:
Voted, several years ago, to cut funding for lethal predator control,
trapping on national wildlife refuges, and trophy hunting programs in
foreign countries. But...libertarians like Paul don't want to see laws
enacted that restrict personal behavior, even if that behavior may
involve
dogfighting or eating mustangs.

Interesting points about animal cruelty. I'll have to look those bills up. I haven't heard of recent legislation that explicitly prohibits eating horses and collection of polar bear pelts. My guess would be that the legislation in question contained hundreds (thousands?) of provisions and earmarks for pork projects.
As you mentioned, Ron Paul leans heavily libertarian, and is against most legislation at the federal level when it can be handled at the local and state level. While I'm certainly against animal cruelty of any kind, I'd rather the federal government focus on keeping the economy on track, protecting our borders, and defending the constitution. Local and state governments should be the ones focused on local issues so that the voters will have more of a voice in what laws are enacted.

Thanks for your post. The ignorant to get re-educated about the world they live in. The economy is the biggest concern of the general populace, but they haven't a clue how it operates.

What they don't know is that Dr. Paul is an accomplished economist, who is highly regarded by top economists, like Paul Craig Roberts (father of Reaganomics). Not one other candidate has his history or credentials. He is the only candidate offering real solutions; all his competitors are offering only hyperbole as the economy is quickly going to nosedive over the cliff.

His only fault isn't electability, but that he hasn't struck a cord on the emotional level of the people who are unable to think critically.

They don't realize that Congressman Paul is the only member who has voted 100% strictly loyal to the spirit and intent of the Document he swore to uphold and protect, which in turn protects us (supposedly) from an intrusive government that has been hijacked by the inscrutable people who gave us a dollar that is created out of thin air and is backed by zero (0)collateral.

Reading assignment: The Creature From Jekyll Island.

Unfortunately, the majority won't realize what has happened to them until they lose everything they worked for. Top economists have said that unless something radical is done to change the course of our economy, we can hope for an extended period of stagnation, at best, and at worst case scenario, a depression that will dwarf the Great Depression in comparison.

A few things I have heard about Ron Paul are that he has not accepted money from lobbyists or special interest groups for his campaign, he has never voted for any tax increase in his career, he wants the troops out of Iraq, he doesn't participate in the congressional retirement plan, which he says is too lucrative and he actually gives back money each year instead of just burning up his expense account. Whether or not these are all true, I don't know, but I sure don't hear anyone else doing any of the things he has done either.

jeffmw -

Ron Paul is not finished. He and his supporters are just getting started. Even if he's not our next president, he'll go back to congress and continue being a voice of reason in a sea of special interest lap dogs!
