My husband and I are very angry about an incident that occured on a Laidlaw/First Student bus this morning and the driver attempted to conceal it.
Our four year old daughter fell asleep on her way to a St. Louis Magnet School where she is in preschool and was taken back to the company bus terminal. I am angered by the following events!!!!
She was discovered on the bus when she woke up while her driver was talking to another woman at the terminal. She went to the front of the bus and her driver said, "Ohh"!
The driver then took my daughter to school at approximately 10:00 am without informing anyone about the incident.
She allowed my child to go to her classroom and left the school. My daughter told the assistant teacher in her classroom what had happened and we were then notified by the school.
My daughter's Lead Teacher arrived at the school after attending a meeting this morning and saw the driver. She thought that the bus was at the school rather late should have not been there at the time and was surprised when she was notified by the assistant teacher that my daughter had just arrived.
I called the bus terminal and spoke with a supervisor and was told that the incident had not been reported by the driver or the school. She told me that an investigation would be done and she would return my call. I have yet to hear back from her.
We are angered at the incident itself but are furiated at the fact that the driver tried to cover up what had happened.
My husband met the bus this afternoon and the driver told him that she had only circled the block near the school before she noticed my child. This is quite hard to believe because it does not take over an hour for anyone to circle a block.
My daughter stated that she woke up at a place that had a lot of buses around which leads me to believe that she was taken back to the terminal. My daughter was also very apologetic when she got home!! She said, " I am sorry that I did not pay attention, Mom but my eyes were so tired!" She said the driver had "fussed at her!"
I am happy that my baby arrived at school safely, but the attempted cover up by the driver really ticks me off!!!
It has been a long haul, but I finally received my last chemo treatment on Friday, July 20, 2007. All of this began in November 2005 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, but yet I feel as if I am still facing a long battle with recovery from all of the chemo, radiation and lumpectomy that left the right side of my body inpain constantly.
I feel blessed to have been able to find my lump so early and am excited that I have finally finished treatment, but I am still scared.
This was a horrific experience for me as well as I know it is for other patients, but I am a fighter.
Messages from al of you kept me uplifted and I appreciate my Fox 2 family so much. I have went through a lot in the past year while trying to deal with my illness and everday life. I am just taking it day by day until I am able to go back to work.
Life after cancer has caused a lot of adjustments in my family's life, but with them at my side, I am officially a SURVIVOR!
I can not believe all that victims have to go through to have their cases heard in court. My husband and I were scammed out of $17,850.00 over 5 years ago and still have not received any justice.
We were interviewed by John Auble back then and our story aired on FOX 2, but yet we are still waiting on the countless amounts of continuences to cease so that we can resolve our issue and move on. The interview that John did with us on this man even led to more victims comming forward who had been deceived.
Ater providing the Circuit Attorney's Office with all of the information that was needed, the person that stole our money was charged with 12 FELONY counts of theft. He has even been arrested, served time and been released in another state since he was charged in St. Louis City, but yet nothing has happened here.
I cannot begin to descibe all of the nightmares that my family has experienced because of this incident and there is no help from The Victim's of Crime in this type of case.
I am seriously losing my faith in the justice system!
Is this the norm, 5 years before a case goes to trial?
