Ugh. I hate this cold weather. What I really hate is the drastic changes in weather. I always get sick. I was sick all Easter weekend. My sinuses were literally screaming in pain(okay, maybe not literally, but it really sucked). Thankfully, this bitter weather is supposed to let up soon. Maybe I'll be able to breathe out of my nose by Friday.

But anyway, I didn't post this blog just to whine, did I? No, I wanted to warn the other people like me that get these head colds because of the weather. I nearly passed out Monday morning, and I think it might have been because of this cold.

I was sitting in my Bio class Monday morning, when suddenly I felt very nauseous. I seriously felt like I was going to throw up (which is something that rarely happens to me). I started feeling dizzy and started sweating, so I decided to sneak out to the restroom before I tossed my cookies all over the girl in front of me.

I was halfway down the hallway when I got even more dizzy. I leaned up against the wall for a second, then pushed on. I started seeing blue and purple dots, and I couldn't really see where I was going. After almost knocking over a fold-out table in the hall, I reached the restroom. I grabbed hold of the stall, and the next thing I knew I was on the floor trying to catch my breath. My head felt like it was spinning, and I could hear myself wheezing and gasping for breath. The blue and purple dots were pretty much all I could see, so I laid on the floor and closed my eyes for what was probably five minutes or so, until I caught my breath, and the nauseousness subsided a little.

Thankfully, no one had come in the restroom and saw my predicament. I finally opened my eyes and sat up. I went to scratch the back of my neck when I noticed it was soaked. I looked and saw my t-shirt was soaked too. It was sweat.

This is by far, the strangest thing that has ever happened to me, and I think it was because of this head cold I have, or the meds I've been taking to treat my symptoms. Anyone else had anything like this?

Just thought I would share,

    Jess

Jess if that was over the counter medicine....That was probably why you were feeling so spacey....a lot of junk in those meds....I feel spacey every time I have ever taken them....And how much Easter candy did you have the day before combined with eggs...the only way you could probably felt worse was if you would have had White Castles for Breakfast....Eat a good dinner and get a good nights sleep and get rid of the Junk Meds and youll feel much better tomorrow....

I took mucinex (which has never really gave me problems before) and I didn't have much candy, and I don't even eat eggs! I think my blood sugar could have been low. I'm used to having a caffinated soda by then, and I didn't, so that didn't help either. It was just so weird. Feeling like I'm going to throw up or pass out is just not like me at all. Weird, huh?

You possibly was running a fever also .But you gotta watch them over the counter meds.If you hadn't ate when taking this med could do it also.Have you had an episode like that since? If so you need to see a doctor. There are warning labels on them OTC meds.Read them carefully.

Jess; you need to be checked out; Last year at this time I was in Iowa for my dad's funeral. The morning before his funeral; I was having the exact same symptoms; however; I actually passed out and woke up in the hospital! I had walking pnuemonia! They said I had probably had it for a month or more; and I basically had a 'siezure' which was my brains way of telling my body how sick I was! Go to the doctor!!! I was in the hospital for ten days; and missed my dad's funeral.

RUN, DON'T WALK TO THE DOC! THESE SYMPTOMS COULD BE INDICATIVE OF SEVERAL PROBLEMS (SOME SERIOUS). THEN WHEN YOU FEEL BETTTER, PLEASE LET US KNOW. BUT DON'T TAKE THIS INCIDENT LIGHTLY. I WILL PRAY FOR YOU, HONEY. GO SEE YOUR DOCTOR ASAP!

Well, I'm doing much better. Haven't seen a doc yet, but if I get those symptoms again, I'm definitely going. My younger sister just went to the doc yesterday and she has strep. I don't think I've got it because our symptoms are nothing alike. I stopped taking the mucinex, and that helped. I'm just going to go home and go to bed after class today.

Thanks for the advice and all the get well wishes (very cute, suzseeq!)! My family has been telling me the same things. I'm just going to take it easy.

-Jess :)

Tank yourself up with Vitamin C, fresh fruit, Orange juice. If your nose is stopped up get some Hooter's hot wings and a roll of tissue paper.

Jess you need to see a doctor. What you just described could have been low blood sugar. The next step would have been death, as you would go into diabetic coma. You are never to young to have diabetes. It's nothing to play with .
