Saw Kansas last night with my parents. I was one of the youngest people there (and probably the most sober). Anyways, there were two bands before Kansas, which sucked. I would rather have seen a longer Kansas show. The first band was Mama's Pride acoustically, and they were alright. The second band was the Michael Stanley Band, and they sucked. Sorry if I offend any of thier fans. They were just way too generic for my taste.

Kansas ruled though. I haven't listened to a ton of Kansas (no specific reason really, other than there is too much music out there and not enough time for it all) but definately plan to. I love prog, and how I have neglected Kansas for so long is shameful. Why a run-of-the-mill band like the Michael Stanley Band would be paired up with a band like Kansas is beyond me.

Anyone else see them? I want to see Kansas again, when they can play a longer set, and at a better venue (this was at Jefferson Barracks Park).

Did not get to see them this time. Had to work for a change. But yeah, they are great. Saw them the first time back in 1976. Ugh, hard to say that.
Their best album, CD? Is Masque if you ask me.

I don't have a favorite, I haven't heard much of their stuff. I will be changing that.

And Mech, if you lived here during the 70s, I can pretty much gurantee you and my dad were at a lot of the same concerts.

I was here until 76. We probably were at many of the same concerts. Seems I was going to one a week for about a year. Ah, the good old days.
Now, if I go to one a month it is a lot. Best Kansas concert I saw was at Six Flags in 76. They tore it up for 3 hours. At that time they were a great jam band also. Could take a 3 minute song out to 20 minutes.
And yeah, the Michael Stanley band has always sucked.

Mutatis, I can tell your young. Kansas is a good band but so is Micheal Stanley and Pat & Danny Liston. All their sets were too short so you didn't really see the other great music that those bands have to offer. Growing up, Kansas was an up and coming band that turned so-so.

My only other name that I have created is Dantumis_Tumasit. I am only active on one blogging name at a time. I created Dantumis_Tumasit when this blogging name was gagged, for reasons unclear to me. I was planning to stay on Dantumis_Tumasit, but now the password doesn't work, so I came back here. You should also note, Dantumis_Tumasit is an anagram of Mutatis-Muatndis. Some people figured it out. Anyways, thought I'd clear that up, sense some uninformed people on here seem to have this conspiracy theory that I have created a vast number of screen names in order to better spread my America hating agenda. Sorry, don't have time for that. I barely have time for this.
