I'm just curious. Because, if someone is pregnant, and find out thier child has down's (is there an aposterphee there, and did I spell aposterphee correctly?) syndrome, and then decides to have an abortion, well, that is pretty bad. I get she is pro-life, and that is wonderful (I tend to lean more towards pro-life) but does the fact that she has a child with downs syndrome matter in any way? To me, no. And, did she know the child would have downs in the womb? Because I have read and heard that her having a child with downs is an afformation of how truly pro-life she is.

No. But, I keep hearing how great she is for not aborting her child that has downs syndrome. Because if she didn't know her child had downs syndrome until it was born, it wouldn't really matter, would it?

All women who go to doctors nowdays are tested well before termination for downs syndrome. It has been widely reported that she knew her baby would be born with Downs.
Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yeh, it wouldn't happen to my daughter?
I don't think the the pro-gay rights, pro-abortion, pro-alternative life style, liberal democarats will have a lot to say about someone's daughter being pregnant. If they do, tough kitty.
At least she's not a 14 yr. old glamour girl like Jamie spears.

My sister is so anti abortion, we actually have to completely stay away from that subject, but when she found she was expecting her second child at the age of 40, she was waiting the outcome of the amniocenteses (spelling?) and told her husband, doctor, minister and me that if there was something wrong (Down's etc) she would have an abortion. She said she knew herself and knew she would not be able to care for the child. From my sister, this was quite a statement. I believe she would have, fortunately the baby was fine. I think no matter what your feelings are, reality has a way of making you think sometimes. The question at a time like this is not whether you believe in abortion, but how well you can deal with any problems the baby may or may not have.

As for the 17 year old being pregnant - so what? Like dannbetty said at least she isn't 14

I don't care if Sarah Palin has a child with special needs, or that her daughter has a baby.

The decision that her family made is strickly their decision. Not every family would make that decision. Each person has to decide for themselves what result they can live with.

I care that our educational system is 29th in the world.

I care that we have few jobs left here and all the merchandise is being shippped into the USA.

I think they should put a very high tax on any imports. Stop them and see that our people can make those products.

Give the factories a tax break to build and start hiring our people.

I care that we have judges that release child molestors.

I care that our children cannot play outside like we used to do.

I want her to get rid of judges that are not making the decisions that the people agree with, all of them, not a few who would march against anything including chocolate.

I want her to clean up Washington DC, get rid of the crooks.

If her daughter has a baby, that is a very small problem compared with what we as Americans are facing now in this country.

Righ-Moves. Sorry to burst your bubble but not every woman knows if their child will have down syndrom or any other kind of defect. When you reach a certain age an amnio is done but when a woman is younger...I think younger than 35 or so it is optional and not required. So not EVERY woman knows prior to birth!

Right on AMOM!

Everyone is so busy gossiping like a sewing circle that we don't focus on the real issues.

I agree the personal family things should be kept private - too bad Republicans don't usually feel that way when its Democrats doing the immoral deeds but that's okay because this is the kind of thing that bites them in the butt when we find they really are no more holy and pious than the rest of us. Maybe Sarah was out shooting high power assault rifles at bucking caribeo and didn't spend enough time teaching her daughter real values. I'll bet the daughter knows how to hunt big game, though!

But I digress - it shouldn't matter. What DOES matter is that none of McCain's ideas so thoughtfully laid out by AMOM address those real problems we should be concerned about. Since when does giving a factory tax breaks bring back more jobs? Bush has been doing that for seven years now - haven't noticed it's not working? No, we give the worker a tax break to work at the factory, then if the factory does well and the owners and managers have truly contributed something to its success THEN and ONLY THEN do they make a profit - that's how it's SUPPOSED to work. Handing big business taxpayer-paid profit is not free enterprise. That's why the Republican agenda does not work and is such as complete and utter failure.

I care about all those things on AMOM's list, too. I know that the better solution, however, is to elect Obama and the Democrats to solve them.

The Republicans had eight years. They failed. What else matters?

Mut-Mut,

If I remember correctly she alluded to knowing in her speech but that she elected to keep Trig and that the world may see a flaw but that she sees perfection.

My brother & sis-in-law's 1st child was born with a birth defect that is hereditary and develops within the 1st trimester. When they found out they were pregnant with their 2nd child the physician offered to run tests to see if the unborn baby had the same defect in case they wished to abort. They opted against the testing, abortion wasn't an option and why spend 6 months worrying over the situation? Both boys are fine young men now. One has even done time serving our country in Iraq. They are both wonderful blessings of God.

Doesn't anyone understand that NO President can do anything he or she wants to do without Congress??? You can't lay all the blame on the the current and past Presidents...the Democratic Congress is to blame, too. Until the two parties can learn to work together for the good of this Country, we'll keep seeing more of the same as we've been seeing. As for Obama's mother being unwed when he was born...don't care, doesn't matter. As for Palin's daughter being pregnant...don't care, doesn't matter. Who will I vote for? Let me put it this way; I don't want someone who keeps changing his stand on things and who doesn't know squat about getting things done being called "Mr.President" in MY country.

St was tested and knew ahead of time.I am usually pro, but will bend for certain circumstances, such as rape etc.
But overall, it makes no difference to me, as no one has has a perfect life.

My only other name that I have created is Dantumis_Tumasit. I am only active on one blogging name at a time. I created Dantumis_Tumasit when this blogging name was gagged, for reasons unclear to me. I was planning to stay on Dantumis_Tumasit, but now the password doesn't work, so I came back here. You should also note, Dantumis_Tumasit is an anagram of Mutatis-Muatndis. Some people figured it out. Anyways, thought I'd clear that up, sense some uninformed people on here seem to have this conspiracy theory that I have created a vast number of screen names in order to better spread my America hating agenda. Sorry, don't have time for that. I barely have time for this.
