As a St. Louisian I am saddened to see it lose part of its identity. However the reason I'm sad is not because of the loss of an American company but the loss of a St. Louis based company. However as someone originally from PA, I saw what AB did to Rolling Rock. It shut down the brewery in Latrobe, PA where they have been making the beer for 113 years and moved it to New Jersey. The previous owner kept the operations at its hometown without any problem. The previous owner? Inbev.

So the lesson I have learned living here in St. Louis and PA is that American companies can be as cruel and heartless as any foreign-owned company. We've seen that here in St. Louis way too often as company after company here kept getting bought out. The end result, jobs were lost and the operations here reduced. The majority of these companies? American-owned.

So the belief that an American company is kind natured is false. This is indeed a very sad day here in St. Louis,  and I think we have seen way too many sad days here in St. Louis.
