Sorry to say that I think Fox2's running of Tony LaRussa's DUI arrest is in very bad taste.  Haven't we heard enough about this?  Yes, what Tony did was wrong and he admits it and he has to live with it but enough is enough.

I was also a bit upset with the representative from MADD.  He wanted something more to be done.  Tony was dealt with according to the law in Florida.  He lost his license. He admitted his guilt and expressed his regrets.  What more do you want?  Should we hang him?   Would that be enough to satisfy everyone?  Come on people.  Yes he was wrong and it could have been a horrible tragic situation but thankfully nothing worse became of it.  Now let's just go on with our lives, OK?

There is no reason to show that clip of Tony. So what, he got drunk, besides .09 isn't that bad. He was asleep and was suddenly awaken. Do you think you could pass those tests after being suddenly waken? I couldn't! So, Fox 2, get off his back!!!

Not making excuses here Rosie. We the public and Fox2 News should NOT be the ones punishing him. The courts did that. 'nuff said

When I was a youngster, the phone rang at 1 a.m. I heard my parents answer the phone, talk in low muffled tones, and then I heard by sister in the next room start screaming and crying. She was in charge of watching me while my parents went to the hospital. The next morning they came home and told me my other sister was killed in a car accident. Days later, it would be determined she was yet another victim of a drunk driving accident. A week later the drunk driver was out of jail, drunk again, and claimed another life. He went to prison. I'm 40+ years old today and I can still hear my sister screaming like it was yesterday. My lost sister was one of the most beautiful people you could know. At 24, she had her life in front of her. And even though she was at an age where hanging out with friends was important, I cannot tell you how many weekend nights she passed on that to spend time hanging out with me. I cherish those moments to this day.

I'm not a card carrying member of MADD, but I'll tell you why it's relevant.
1. .09 is drunk. It is "that bad". You cannot drive when you are drunk. It's the simple, sobering truth.
2. No one could pass those tests if they are drunk. It's why they have tests.
3. Society has yet to embrace the fact that drinking and driving is a problem... and takes too many lives.
4. Josh Hancock was in no shape to drive, and could have claimed other lives.
5. LaRussa had his car in drive and fell asleep at the wheel. It was a recipe for disaster.
6. MADD's request that LaRussa use his public position to counsel against dru

If it was just anyone, I think a plea of not guilty would have been entered and the offense would have been reduced. Being a known person, your life is made public and you are treated differently. Public opinion is made part of the consideration when deciding your defense and punishment. Its the price you pay for not being a nobody and I don’t think its right, but I do think he got a punishment that was ok and customized for him.

I watch fox2 everyday, but i think it was soooooo very unclassy for you to try to barge in and try to get an interview with Tony Larussa, during such a somber time for the Buck family! HOW VERY UNCLASSY! Tony made a mistake, and admitted to it. Its over! GIve me a break! Leave him alone!

LaRussa apologized and has taken full responsibility for his actions...give it a rest.

I see no need for Fox2 to air this video. I think people know how a DUI test on the street works. Otherthan embarrassment factor I can't see the need to air this.

The hypocrisy here rivals the repub sex scandals. We have a sport that is fueled by the dangerous drug alcohol. Any night stadium goers can find intoxicated drivers leaving the stadium and urinating in the streets. Alcohol pays baseball salaries. To expect them not to use it and drive is foolish considering the stadiums serve it and they know folks are driving home. The stadium parking lots aren't full of cabs after all! Many communities allow drive up windows at liquor stores. So drive people drive...the salary you save may belong to your fav ball player. How about that world occupation folks? Tired soldiers and perfectly healthy men playing with each others' balls. That's AMERIKA! Boo Ya

local news had to run the story, it is being ran on national news. how would it have looked if local did not run when national did. it would have looked like we were sweeping our dirt under the carpet.

hopefully someone seeing the story will think twice before drinking and driving. maybe running it saved some lives.

I don't have a problem airing the story...it is news. But the video? Looks like a segment from Cops. And it kind of trashy of Fox2 to run it over and over and over again.

Why air his story and not the rest of the drunk drivers? I'm not for drunk driving in any way, but he was barely over the limit and the fact that he is Tony Larussa is the reason they are even showing the clip. How many of these cops do the same thing? I know the do I see it all the time, but the hipocrits still write the tickets.

Tony has already apologized for his actions. However, he should also apologize to the St Louis area for bringing it the black eye.

mineandme... the treatment Tony has received by St Louis media PALES in comparison to other DUI offenders.

Tony is an ambassador for St Louis, he's the manager of this city's baseball team, he is able to raise money for his charity because of his name, and he holds some responsibility for the conduct of himself and his team. For these reasons, LaRussa's DUI arrest is newsworthy and the videotape is relevant.

As for Tony kicking ch 2 out of the locker room... let's go one step further. Let's say anyone who gets negative publicity should kick the media out of anywhere they see fit. Let's make sure the questioning of your tax dollars, your child's education, of the conduct of public officials... of all these things-- is squashed forever. And let's shut down the internet too.

Channel 2 GET-A-LIFE
Yes what he did was wrong Yes there is No excuse far what he did The only thing that bring's me to his side, He pleaded guilty and is taking full responsibility for his actions. More than any other person with his fame. The associates of channel 2 need to look in the mirror I think they can relate to his situation P.S. Channel two is still my favorite Morning show !!!!!

Tony did not bring a blackeye to the area, Thunder. He has already expressed his regrets. Maybe if we hang him in effigy in Keiner Plaza that would make you happy. Come on....he is a man who puts his pants on one leg at a time,. His notariety came from how well he performed his job... but he made a mistake. Who hasn't? And you think watching him being arrested is relevant?

I'm sure Tony's arrest video looked like a lot of people's video arrested for DUI, but we don't get to see those. Show every DUI arrest video- I want to see who is out there that might end my life today. I also feel anyone arrested for a DUI owes a public apology- we are all in danger when people drink & drive. The sad thing is that there are a lot of people who do not get arrested or get off because of who they are or who their parent(s) are or what position they may have in the city or state. Just like cigarettes, I think commercials for alcohol should not be aired.

I applaude channel 2. He needs his face on TV a little more. He got a little slap on the hand. What a hero Tony is NOT! he is at the bottom of the list as far as heros go. He needs rehab!

Wasnt sure why this video needed to be played on the news. He said he did it, so it wasnt exposing him or anything.

Unless they are going to start showing ALL the drunk drivers on the news. Will channel 2 follow Joe Nobody around with a camera like a flock of buzzards? Ask about the "message" they are giving to kids by driving drunk?
Oh but wait, that would be an invasion of their privacy.

Anyway, He got what every other person gets on their FIRST offense. He didnt get special treatment. You would think that would be a refreshing change.

Maybe if I was a fan of baseball (or a member of MADD) I would see LaRusso for some sort of higher being, above the average man, pillar of society, but to me he's just a person who drove drunk. He paying the price just like Joe Nobody, so lets move on.

Yes and maybe Fox2 could add a segment to the Morning Show...kind of like first birthdays, only this time let's call it DUI arrests. What a refreshing way to start the day! A cup of coffee, a bagel and videotapes of people getting arrested. Maybe Tim Ezell could go to the jail and interview some drunks or some hookers too!
