I am an 11 yr breast cancer survivor. My daughter-in-law nominated me to form a human pink ribbon at half time during the Rams game. I WON! There were 3 events going on downtown. The baseball game, football and the Taste of St Louis. I thought we'd wander around and eat b4 the game. My husband & I drove to Hanley to catch the Metro Link. It let us off pretty close by. We walked and scouted out all the goodies. I started out with the crab cake. YUMMM I didn't get a pic of the 4 pack sliders that my hubby ate. He liked them though. I later had the fish and chips. (shared the fries) My husband stopped by Hanks cheesecakes and selected the chocolate. (although I LOVE chocolate, when it comes to cheesecake.. I like it plain.. so I can taste it. I was just going to have a bite of his. But the guy shouted to the crowd, if you dance, I'll give you a free piece of cheesecake.. uh, so I danced! I asked.. does that include the carrot cake? He said yes and gave me a piece... It was DELISHOUS! It was pricey though. Most tastes were 4 dollars each. For the fillet medallion (a few bites), it was 6 dollars. My fish and chips were 6. A soda was 5 dollars.. 20 oz bottle. I'd never pay 5 dollars in a restaurant and at least there, you'd get a refill. So, yes.. it cost a LOT. The food was hot and fresh!

We walked around and viewed the art work and listened to the live music while we ate. We had a little time to kill and sat at the Bread Co for a Chef competition. We were supposed to be at the Dome @ 2:00, so we headed for the Metro again. It took us to the

Dome. I went to the entrance and they told us and a few other "guests" (pink ribbon survivors) that they weren't going to let us in until 2:00. It was only 1:30. We had to stand on the street for a half hour while employees of National City went inside where it was much cooler. It was odd that there was a huge room where they brought us when they let us in but were unable to cool off in b4 2:00.

I drank a LOT of water because of the food.. the walking and the heat. We were told that once we took the field during the first quarter, we would not be able to leave that space for ANY reason so we wouldn't distract the players. Those were GREAT seats on the field! My hubby complained that those gorgeous cheerleaders were blocking his view of the game! hah..

I spotted Elvis in the building!

We started winning the game!... while we were seated on the field. After half time, when we formed the human pink ribbon, we were moved to our seats for the rest of the game. WAY up in the nose bleed section. Hubby and I got a soda each.. Eleven dollars. Those seats go for 44 dollars even up there! It's a shame prices are so high that families can't possibly enjoy a day out! That's so wrong. That's what's wrong with our country. TOO MUCH GREED!

Ok, why is there a statue of a kick boxing rabbit? Does anyone know? There's a pic of the Scott Trade Center... GO BLUES..

thnx wild.. it was pretty good. I also talked to the Rockettes that were on Fox 2. They raved about Tim! Many of the survivors mentioned how he made them smile every day.

thnx rosie.. the Rams need more than a new coach..but that's a start.

That crab cake looked awful good Ms. Daisy! Congratulations on 11 years survival and thanks for taking us along on your journey to the DOME yesterday.

I remember you telling us that you'd be there but I forgot all about it. Chances are they wouldn't have televised the 1/2 time show anyway.

I had my little 15 mo. old granddaughter Akira yesterday and she wore me out! OMG the energy she has!!!

Glad you had a good time and thanks again for sharing!

CONGRATULATIONS DEB:)!!

Looks like you had a really good day. Except of course..those prices; yikes! I agree with Jeanette; you have to treat yourself now and then; but DANG! LOL! I agree with you also; in that; it's just way too dern expensive to go to any sports event. Especially with your whole family. THAT'S almost IMPOSSIBLE!

Looks like you have a picture for: WHAT'S THE DEAL :) Never saw that kick-boxing rabbit before and have no idea what its about:)

thnx kat.. it was awesome! Thousands of cheering fans.

Sophia.. that crab cake was great! I know when I play with my grandsons, there's nothing left of me when they leave. But, so much fun! :) lol I even get exhausted watching Ryan & jeanette videos! lol

Hiya suz.. yeah, the prices of sporting events are a real shame. My ticket, which National City gave us.. had 44 dollars on it.. geez. Definately not worth that. In the 70's, we would take our very young son to the baseball game. Bleacher tickets were a dollar each then. We brought our lunch. I still bring water and peanuts in with us.

Someone tell me what that statue is?? lol It's so odd.

thnx Rachel.. I gained a pound this week. It was worth it! I think it would have been more if I hadn't walked a few miles.

Congrats on 15th months! *hugs* to you and Whit.

Hi Molly.. Wow.. it was exciting being on field forming a huge pink ribbon. I was wondering if you took a picture.. I haven't been able to find one. My husband & I were on the field.

Anyway.. I love the scarf.. here's where you can buy them... it says..dry clean only.. I hand washed mine in Woolite and cold water and it came out beautifully.

I don't like driving and I'm always asking my hubby to chauffeur me around ...he calls me Miss Daisy. Daisies are my favorite flowers, too.
