I'm not one bit surprised that Devlin pleaded Not Guilty. It's actually very rare that someone actually pleads Guilty in a criminal case. This is not the same as you see on Judge Judy, were talking about this mans life. Like it or not he has constitutional rights just like EVERYONE else. He has his right to a fair trial, and to fight the charges that are against him. If you were in his shoes, charged with any type of crime, you would want to fight the charges that are against you.

Also Devlin’s Lawyers, no matter what they do or say they are there to protect Devlin’s rights, and defend him. Granted not too many people would probably want to defend such a monster, but someone has to. Everyone is entitled to a lawyer even if you’re the worst person in the world!!!

Sorry but I just don’t like people to pick on the lawyers. Most people don’t know all the amendments to the constitution, or couldn’t even name 5 of them without looking them up.

I will be the first to admit i do not know any thing about Lawyers or the law, My anger about Devlin does make me seem to be on the attack on who defends him ,I know it is not right to do this but at the time i am angry with all who even can talk to the Monster.I get so involved i can not see straight. Yes i really do know we have to have Lawyers to defend him. I just would hope we could just send him to the gallows and get him and his kind out of the world before they hurt some other children. But i know that is not going to happen, So i speak with anger & hurt at the time. You seem to have a good head on your shouders, You are not one to talk silly with anger as i any many others would. Your point is well taken.I am not the type to think calmly at the time ,I want blood, But thank God for people like you who do not attack people like me instead you come across with clarity, You are not saying Devlin should be let go.That would change my view of you of course.

Oh I don't think they should let Devlin go, I think they should throw him in general population and let the prisoners have their way with him.

I know they say everyone is guaranteed a right to a trial. But, what confuses me about this monster pleading "Not Guilty" is how did these two teenage boys -- one missing for 4 1/2 yrs and the other missing for 4 1/2 days -- magically appear in his apartment if he didn't kidnap them? Did aliens beam them into his apartment to frame him?

Caner you know I have heard that those Aliens have been running around the US, right after God told me to do it, and oh I was suffering from Post Partum. (Don't get me wrong there I believe that it is a ture disease, but I don't think that all these people are TRULY suffering from it).....

The other thing that does get me though, is that he confessed to kidnapping Ben.... I'm sure he will get a plea deal or they are going for the insane defense....

I wonder if the 2 lawyers think in the back of their minds, "I hope he gets what is coming to him"? I don't blame the lawyers for defending Devlin. People go to law school to become lawyers and make good money. I'm sure alot of lawyers don't like the person they are representing. If I were a lawyer, I would take the case just for the money, but I would be wishing in the back of my mind (KILL HIM)

Don't worry about Devlin. If he goes to prison in which he will, trust me he has to be in population at one time or another and they will get a hold of him. He already admitted to kidnapping the boys so no he won't get off and somebody with a bond that high is not going anywhere unless his family includes Donald Trump.lol........

Now that WOULD be an interested defense if he pleaded Post Patrum. I would be interested in finding out what his past has been prior to the "abduction" of Shawn. Not much info out there as to what or where has he been up to prior to 2001. I don't want to drag his parents into this but what was his family life like? His school mates, social life? Other work history. Like one expert said "that someone like him could have been planning this as early as his early teens". As far as lawyers go, they MAY actually believe he is innocent (depending on his defense), of course what comes to mind is that this is a "high" profile case, and what other way to get your name out there. It may work or may not work, look at the lawyers in the OJ case, where are they now? I have not found any info that they are doing this "pro bono" or were assigned by the public defenders office.

HE HAD EGG ALL OVER HIS FACE AND THEY SHOULD HANG HIM BY HIS TESTICOLS. HE IS GUILTY AND NO LAWYER SHOULD DEFEND HIM. WHO IS PAYING FOR HIS LAWYERS?? DEVLIN? NO , THE PEOPLE ARE. TAX PAYERS WHO WORK HARD FOR THEIR MONEY PAY FOR THESE CRIMINALS. YOU KNOW THAT SOMEWHERE OUT THERE SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET A BUR IN THEIR BUTT AND TAKE ACTION ON THE LAWYERS. LIKE MR. T SAYS "I PETTY THE FOOL" HE WONT LAST LONG IN PRISON, SOMEONE WILL GET HIM. THEY SHOULD GIVE HIM TO THE PEOPLE AND HANG HIM LIKE THEY DID SADAM.

Can someone answer this

Is there a chance that Devlin could be kept by himself in prison for his entire stay? I dont no much about laws, so I was just wondering

WHY WOULD HE PLEAD NOT GUILTY THEY WAS FOUND IN HIS APARTMENT. THIS WAY HE CAN WAISTE OUR TIME HE SHOULD JUST GET IT OVER AND LET THESE BOYS MOVE ON AND NOT HAVE THIS THING OVER THERE HEADS ANYMORE.THAT IS OK HE WILL NOT COME OUT OF PRISON ALIVE IF HE DOES IT WILL SHOCK ME. THE ONE THING I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY COP FRIENDS IS THAT THEY DON'T TAKE TO KINDLY TO SOMEONE WHO ABUSES A CHILD. THAT IS WHY ALOT OF THE FIGHTS TAKE PLACE

Looks as if lots our tax dollars will be wasted on this trial... and even moreso when the loser goes to jail. He should just have been executed. Save all of our time & money & I am sure the families want that as well.. Now they will have to live through all the horror as the trail goes on.... UNREAL!!!!!!!

whats worse is the creepy lawyers who want to defend this loser. They are doing it for free press... lawyers are ruining this country.

How can his lwayers go to sleep at night knowing that they are defending a man that has kidnapped at least 2 boys & who knows what he did with them.. These lawers are just as creepy as Devlin!

T-Rex I don't live to far from Mt. St. Fenton...Just 2 big intersections up...

Stlgreg, when Devlin gets life in prison, you will be paying i believe the figure is, $40k a year to keep him there....

Amc, if they put him in isolation then he will be by himself every day... but more then likely he will just go with all the others like him whom harm a child. Doubt he will be put in general population.

I guess what confuses me is that I don't think any lawyer would want to be recognized trying to prove that some monster like "Devlin" is of sound mind and body. I am sure the lawyer that is representing has children and is trying all that he can to keep from strangling this character.

Let's understand that the lawyer representing "him" is doing it through a court appointment. I don't think the lawyer signed a waiting list to get picked. However I do know that public appointed lawyers or any lawyer at that has to volunteer a certain amount of hours of free work. And when their number is called they have to serve. Almost like a continuing education credit.

I am sure they are people serving our country over in the "sandbox" that doesn't necessarily want to be there but have no choice. I think the same goes for this lawyer representing "Devlin". Unfortunately now he will have this tied to his career and everything he does when he tries to prove that "Devlin" is innocent.

God prevailed on Friday and he will in this case as well.

All I know is if this beast did this to my child we would have to pay for his jail time and trial. When you grab a child, no doubt he did, his rights as far as I am concerned no longer exisits. I put myself in these parents place and I applaud them for their composure. Gice me 30 min with this creep and I bet he would be singing a confession. Librals, poowee

At first, he was truthful to the police about kidnapping Ben, but now he has turned to lying about it. But I think that he is guilty of what he has done and I hope that his jail sentence is severe. Now since he chose to lie, at least when he dies, he will never get to go to heaven because God only allows truthful people in heaven. >r. Devlin is a monster and should be delt with big time.

I was wondering if Devlin is found guilty, would he be eligble for the death penalty. If it's found that he hasn't killed anyone(which we don't know at this point)could he be sentenced to death.
