The Normandy fire board is at it again! Last night they successfully fired a Fire fighter under suspicion of using the districts tax exempt id number. The disrtrict was provided ample evidence including a written letter from the business in which this fire fighter conducted the business (which was completely and fully paid for and was not paid for with any tax payers money!) and with no regard for the fire fighters well being, family or what is right fired him in a closed session vote of 2-1. Fire Board member Bob Lee strongly apposed the termination of this accommodated fire fighter with over over 20 plus years service. For that I am greatly appreciative of Mr. Lee's efforts to do what is right!  The despicable use of tax payer money at the Normandy fire district continues. The effective destruction of well trained and dedicated employees will only hurt the citizens of the Normandy Fire Protection District and it is time that they wake up and realize what is happening in their own communities! I urge every citizen of the Normandy Fire Protection district to attend their meetings which is located at the Normandy Fire house  7302 Pasadena Blvd. St. Louis, MO 63121. Tell them what you think about how they are spending your tax dollars into the drain! To request the time and date of any such board meeting call the following number monday through friday normal buisness hours   (314) 382- 1501. Again it is up to the citizens of the Normandy Fire Protection District to stop the practices of those who do not have any idea of what tax payer money responsability is!

                           BE AN INFORMED TAX PAYER!!!!

If that firefighter used the tax exempt status to save on taxes but paid for item out of his/her own pocket then here's what you do. Have him go back to the place of business, return product tax exempt, then repurchase item as a "normal" customer with no exempt status.

To the clowns of the Normandy Fire Board (NFB) - you've made numerous mistakes in the past 12 months or so by getting rid of these veteran firemen and replacing with little/no experience "quotas" or "relatives".

The tax exempt abuser should be reprimanded. Why does this person even have the tax exempt number? The entire NFD needs to be voted out of office. By voting out the 20 year experience person and putting in your nephew or buddy with no experience, I ask you all this, who is best to fight fires? It's just common sense - maybe you should use some.

Medic: He's under suspicion but not proven that he actually used the number? Is this correct? I just used the worst case scenario and assumed that he did in fact use the number. This isn't cheating the city/taxpayers at all. The NFB is digging deep trying to create a total nepotistic environment. Was it inexperienced firefighters that failed to show up in a timely manner a few months ago (employee death at pool)?

Many people who work for an agency with a tax exempt status have access to them (tax exempt letters) because they make purchases for the company. The firemen may have to purchase food for the crew. If so, they are allowed to use the exempt status, even if paying out of pocket and submitting for reimbursement. If; however, the exempt letter is used for a personal purchase it is illegal. I'm not sure of the punishment, but I would assume it could get you a harsh fine as it is tax fraud.

When I use the centers at places, such as Sams Club, their system beeps to make them ask me if it is tax exempt or not. It's a pain in the butt if they don't hit the correct button.

I do not know him. To answer your question this man was fired not suspended on grounds that he used the exempt number which in fact he did not. As far as the drowning goes I agree with you totaly!

So, they fire his firefighter on the "assumption" of guilt without hearing his story and/or investigating the truth? Yep, it sounds like they are wanting to put another "relative" in the system.
