Were the Judges Fair?

So what did you think of American Idol?  Who should be crowned the winner?  Were the judges swaying it too much to Archuleta?  Did he really outsing Missouri's David Cook?  Weigh in here.

I don't think they were any different then they usually are.

But it has been know that when Simon like's someone. They are gone. But don't think that will happen tonight.

They both had song's that were in their element lastnight. But David A. was alot better than David C. to me.
David C. had something missing lastnight to me.
I think it will be David A. but I have been wrong before.

Good morning, Margie. I think David A did outsing David C last night, although I do want David Cook to win it. David Cook was lacking something last night. He didn't have the Idol aura. David Archuleta gave it his all. He doesn't have the persona as an Idol, though.. IMO.

Morning Margie! I love them both, and while they both did great, I do believe David A. did better last night. However, I honestly believe David C. would make the better Idol overall. It takes more than just a great voice to be the American Idol: you also need stage presence and a maturity to be able to handle the pressures that come along with it. I'm not sure David A. has that; but I believe David C. does. They are both extremely talented men and I look forward to future CD releases from both of these talented artists, because at this point - both are winners. ;)

My favorite saying.....I'm from Missouri, Show Me.....David Cook did just that! David A. just doesn't have the stage presence for me, excellent singer, just not a performer.

LJH, I feel the exact same way. David A. has a beautiful voice, but is not a stage performer. I could definitely go to a concert by David Cook, but not the other one. Too boring to sit and watch him just sing. I will buy David Cook's cd but not David A.'s.

Yes I think the judges favored David A over David Cook. Not fair, but its America's choice in the end either way David Cook will have the better career later.

I don't watch the show. I have heard from my co-workers that the young punk should have been gone 3 weeks ago.

Simon should have kept his own theory to himself at this stage of the competition. Both are winners and earned the right to be there. The other two judges left the door open for David Cook and left it up to us to decide. DA is an excellent singer but DC has the whole package. Both will have outstanding careers now no matter who wins but I'm still hoping for DC to take the prize.

david archuleta, rocked it last nite. its amazing to me that that voice is coming outta him, he did good last nite, and he sang one of my favorite songs of all time... and i didnt like cooks song choices at all and through the competition some of his were my favorite songs

I agree 100% Rosie! Cook will probablly win BUT the best singer last night was Archuletta..hands down!

This is a singing contest. If we put guitars, uklee's and piano's aside AND the cutest ones behind us and just listen to who sounds the best...that's what got Archuletta in the top two.

No they were not bias.... They told the truth.... Archuleta came to win and he sang his butt off.... Cook just went through the motions..... If Cook wins then america was not paying attention..... Then again we voted for Dubya twice.....

American Idol is getting old. The kid shouldn't win because he's too young, forgets his lines on 2 occasion, and his father will help him fail later in life.

David C has more stage prescense and a voice that doesnt sound the same in every song he sings Like David A. I agree with Guy Phillips saying on the last night, the judges need to keep their opinions to themselves so not to sway the vote. Regardless, we havent heard the last of David Cook!!!!

I am hoping it is David A since he will be easier for the industry to mold. This way David C can release a CD of his own style of music in his own way. I would probably buy the CD, but if David C wins, his sophomore CD will be better since he will have more say in it.

David Arculetta has by far the best voice but David Cook has the stage presence. Cook's voice reminds me of Springsteen and I have never been a Springsteen fan, I prefer the clear voice of Arculetta myself. As far as the judges swaying the votes, sometimes I wonder if people vote Opposite what the judges say just because. (esp Simon) I hope not, While I believe there is a good place for David Cook- he is not what I see as an American Idol, he is a rocker and a good one- I do hope this young Arculetta wins but hope his dad chills his heels.

Being a huge T-shrt fan myself, been looking for the T-shirt they wore for the homecoming, anyone know where i can find it? (For Arculetta this is) I only found one I like so far:

but not the one they had on the show.
Anyway, I think both Davids are gracious, talented and sweet- it will be hard to see one go.

ok back to the question, were the judges fair... its simons show, they do this every year why the big ordeal this year.....and besides that, the year ruban won, america voted for clay, but simon didnt want "his idol to be a gay guy"... so it was rigged and ruban won, so why is everyone so outraged over this season, i dont get it

i really dont care who wins they will both do well

Simon fair ? Who knows , what I do know Simon is not a nice person .
David A is and was the best signer of the two . I like David C , but I don't think last night was his best .

david a. is good but all his songs sound the same. david c. has an awesome voice. he could very easily sing a love song and turn around and rock the next one. a sexy voice. and i agree with others that he definately has the stage presence that david a. lacks. i have a feeling david a. will win it. what a waste! david c. will do well for himself whether he wins or not, but i would like to see him win it all.

Of coure the judges were not fair! They acted like that little poptart had it in the bag and David Cook was a big disappointment. DA will probably win and have a great stint with Disney and be all over the tabloids because he is obviously not ready for this fame and his family support is poor at best. But Cook will end up with the career. It's a shame they felt they had to be so harsh, it really ruined the night for Cook fans.

I anchor Fox 2 News in the Morning and yes, I actually do enjoy mornings! I've always gotten up early and find getting off to a great start in the morning is refreshing. After Fox 2, my life quickly turns to my family. My 4 year old son, 2 year old daughter, & newborn baby boy keep me busy running everywhere! I know all you Mom's out there can appreciate that. I have to say, being a Mommy is the greatest job on earth! Did I mention I have the best husband in the world? I'm truly amazed at all he does everyday! Other than family life, my heart is with kids born with the odds against them. I spend a lot of time with charities focusing on children. Thank you for allowing me to "wake-up" with you every morning and I look forward to hearing from you on the blogs. God Bless.
