He's designed his way across America, now " Trading Spaces" Vern Yip is coming to St. Louis.  I'll be spending some time Friday with Vern and want to know what decorating/design questions you may have for him?  Just hit me on the blog and let me know where you need help in your home and we'll get Vern's expert advice and air his answers on FOX 2 News in the Morning.   Right now, I'm thinking how to jazz up a nursery! LOL

He did the famous "Lime Room" on Trading Spaces. I loved it! Ask him for some tips on decorating with a specific color. If you really want to spotlight it, how much is too much?

I have a house buildt in Black Jack. My mother orignally purchased the house while still living in CT. When I moved in 12/92 the original kitchen cabinets were removed and the seller took those beautiful full cabinets out. They almost went to the ceiling. I know I can get some cabinets that look like that but how do I make-up for that extra top? I've looked at Home Depot but nothing fits right. The last piece of paperwork on the house from Black Jack city records dates back to 1863. I wish Evan Farmer would come to MY HOUSE!!!!! I would cook for him and the crew. I also love Andrew Dan'Jumbo (sp)?. Also....I'v never seen "While You Were Out" or "Trading Spaces" do OLD HOMES!

Thanks,
Jill

Hey girl, ask him what tile would look best in a kitchen with white cabinets and greyish countertops. The house I bought had white linoleum throughout the kitchen and down the hallway. I hate it! :-)

I don't want to spend money on a tricked-out custom kitchen, but I'm so sick of hearing people badmouth "big box" store pre-fab cabinets. Is there a happy medium where I can get unique kitchen design with an affordable price?

This really isn't in context to the Vern Yip questions but to Wednesday morning's (June 20) web poll about the casinos.

I've been just a few times; I'm not a frequent patron, but when I go, I really like Harrah's.

However, before I'd vote for any new casinos, what I'd really like to see get started in Missouri is off-track betting on Thoroughbred racing! A track/training facility would be perfect! My husband and I attended the inaugural running of the St. Louis Derby in August 2007, and another Missouri couple ended up sharing our bench. We're from Franklin County, and they were from Eureka; practically next-door neighbors! That night, I'd have loved to have counted all the cars at Fairmount Park and of that total, seen how many had Missouri plates. Money spent on admission, programs, the Daily Racing Form, concessions, and wagering...all for Illinois.

Last summer I started e-mailing Sen. John Griesheimer, presenting the possibility of getting an OTB issue on a ballot. This suggestion, by the way, was directly from the National Thoroughbred Racing Association. Get OTB started, they advised, then try to proceed to getting a track built. I never heard a single word from Sen. Griesheimer's office in response, not even "Leave me alone, lady."

The Lottery has been legal in Missouri for more than 20 years. Time we had a track, folks; like patronizing the casinos strictly for dinner, you can go to the track and NOT gamble, just take in the breathtaking sight of racing Thoroughbreds. Can't get a baby-sitter? Kids are welcome. Admission at Fairmount Park: $2

Hey Margie!
Just wanted to stop by and remind you and your family about the party at the Villa! Our own little blog-a-bbq! Party starts at 1:00 and will carry on throughout the day! No set time, so we can all take our time and get to know each other! Bring the family and hang out for a bit, have a bite to eat, and join in on a little conversation.
There is swimming, fishing, beach volleyball, music, food, dancing, and good ol' fun!
I have posted directions, and if you have any questions just let me know. Hope to see you there! Peace, Jana<3

I anchor Fox 2 News in the Morning and yes, I actually do enjoy mornings! I've always gotten up early and find getting off to a great start in the morning is refreshing. After Fox 2, my life quickly turns to my family. My 4 year old son, 2 year old daughter, & newborn baby boy keep me busy running everywhere! I know all you Mom's out there can appreciate that. I have to say, being a Mommy is the greatest job on earth! Did I mention I have the best husband in the world? I'm truly amazed at all he does everyday! Other than family life, my heart is with kids born with the odds against them. I spend a lot of time with charities focusing on children. Thank you for allowing me to "wake-up" with you every morning and I look forward to hearing from you on the blogs. God Bless.
