Tickets for Hannah Montana's Feb. concert in st. louis are already on Ebay going for hundreds of dollars, some more than one thousand.  People wanting to scalp tickets to make an extra buck bought a lot of the tickets today during the presale on Mileyworld.com

The tickets to the public go on sale tomorrow at noon.  I've heard from so many people who have no desire to go to the concert, but they're going to try to buy tickets just to make money.  I feel terrible for the little girl whose mom can't afford 600 dollars for two tickets but she can afford the 50 dollars at the tickets face value.  Yet she may be shut out.

Yes scalping is legal.  I just think the prices of these tickets are getting out of hand.

I'm one of those mothers, Mandy. I told my daughter the day Fox2 reported the Feb concert that in all likelihood there would be way we could go to this concert, either, because the greedy people would do the same thing they did the first time. It's a lovely thing to have to tell your child, but seems I was right. I hope Karma comes around and bites these "people" in the butt big time. I wouldn't shed any tears for them if it did.

But, then again, I wasn't for making scalping legal, either.

It's too bad that people are buying these tickets just to turn around and try to sell them for 3 times the face value or more. I hope the little girl and her mom get to go and for the cheapest seats or the ones they desire. I think Fox 2 should use their political pull and get 2 tickets for them. I know the radio stations are getting some. Mandy - is there anything you can do?

Leave it to the legislators here to condone such activity. I didn't like the sales before it was illegal and I don't like it now, but at least then the scalpers could have been prosecuted.

Before long no one will be at any concert or sporting event due to the extreme prices.

I think it is awful. Even if it is legal.

I can't fathom the logic behind making scalping legal to begin with. I hope those greedy vampires get stuck with a manure-load of tickets for some big event that they can't sell. Maybe they'll get a clue.

I still cannot believe ticket scalping is legal! That blows my mind. So you can only get four tickets at a time..that's a load of
@#$%...it's not going to put a dent in preventing scalpers to get as many tickets as they want. Crazy.

I think those who worship celebrities are getting exactly what they deserve.

My daughter isn't allowed to worship Hannah Montana. In fact she's never seen it. She's 7 and simply isn't allowed to watch a show about teenagers. Why are you mothers letting your little girls watch a show about a teenager in the first place? Shame on you.

Craig's list also has tickets going for $300.00 to $400.00 a piece.... Something needs to be done about the cost of scalper's tickets or maybe we need to start selling tickets the day of what ever event it is....

I am absoulutly appauled that Missouri passes the law legalized scalping!!! Now I do feel that this Hanna Montana thing has gotten out of control but SHAME on the greedy people out there who will sell their tickets for way more than they are worth in the first place. I for one think Missouri needs to re-think its decision on the whole scalping issue.

We tried to call from 3 phones (3 differant people) and used 2 computers to get tickets, they were gone in like 5 min. So I went on stubhub..... 2 in mezzioden...(sp?) and they were outrageous, but aginst my better judgment, I bought them. I just really want to suprise my daughter. It is appauling that people do this, and they made a huge profit off of us. I can only hope it was worth it, because I can promise I will never do that again!!!!

50, 100 dollars is enough. Paying more is rediculous. Scalping is horrible, but if no one bought from scalpers...they'd stop doing it!

Come on folks, what are we teaching our kids if we buy tickets for a 1-2 hour show for 1000 dollars?

I have a girl in my classroom who went to the last concert of Hannah Montana. She was the talk of the school for a week or so. I think the girl had more fun showing off that she went to the concert than she actually did AT the concert. BTW she is 6 years old.

There is NO human being on the face of this earth that I would pay more than 25-30 bucks to see. And even that is very few. I never understood the whole celebrity craze that people get into. I hope my own chidren grow up feeling the same way.

I hate scalpers. They ruin it for the true fans. I bought tickets for Trans-Siberian Orchestra on the day of the Fan Club sale and all I could get was Club Level seats. For the last 3 years I have been on the floor within the first 10 rows. Scalpers have now made this impossible.

marvoe,
you better check back on those "stub hub" tickets. My grandson got stung by them. He paid a big price to them for last concert, and a few days later they told him they were not available at that price. They only did that because someone else was willing to pay them more. He then went to another Company, paid an even higher price (thanks to them) and got the tickets (they guarateed theirs). As he said he will never make a promise to his daughter again, until he is sure he can get the tickets-so he paid a hefty price not to break that promise. STUB HUB IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED.

I'm curious now to find out how many of you bought tickets during the presale or the actual sale on Saturday? The concert sold out in minutes. And how much did you pay or are willing to pay?

You know if people wouldn't buy from these scalpers there would not be a market for them.

Shan, I think that's typical teen stuff. She happens to be the famous teen right now. TV always comes up with and promotes a few teens to keep kids begging the parents into submission. The parents know they are being stupid when they buy this stuff, (think cabbage patch doll, Elmo, Nintendo WII etc.) but want to look good for the kid and whoever else. That's something to be ashamed of.
I don't think allowing kids to watch a show about teens is shameful. Not moderating the content and amount of television watching might be.
I'm more concerned right now that the news is making a big deal out of nasty Brittany's 16 year old sister being pregnant. There is all this "news" about her meeting her long time boyfriend in church, raising the child in Louisiana for a normal family life, etc. Puke. Who cares about that?
If the media had any care what happened to kids, they would take this and show it as making a bad choice so others might not make the same bad move. This girl is on a kids show and is supposed to be a role model? That family has a lot to not be proud of. I wish she and her sister would go away.
Scalpers suck. Legislators proved they are idiots again. This reenforces my NOT going to any of these events, concerts, ball games, etc. I don't support what is wrong, and this is wrong.
I think this is all a ploy to drive up prices and make money. I think you're going to see soon that the scalpers are not the ones on the street, but insiders and such getting priority to buy in bulk to resell. That's not scalping. That sounds more like price fixing.
Isn't it funny t
