What I can't believe is you people on the MO side you listen to our news everyday. You know our Gov does not live in springfield but costs us thousands of dollars flying in from Chicago. You know we are over taxed for plates cigs, booze, fuel, and housing. You know we have problems with immigration. These are things you hear everyday. They are not propaganda, it's true. Obama is a congressman from IL. HE COULD CHANGE ANY, OR ALL OF THESE THINGS. But he won't.  What kind of CHANGE is he going to make in Washington, if He can't even make changes in His own state?

Obama is leading for only a few select reasons. The number one reason is because he talks a good talk and people are listening to him. I do not trust this man at all. When it was brought out that his voting record speaks for itself. Instead of actually voting on the real issues Obama has voted present. Not yea or nay as he should have. The second reason is this. People have a mind set that we have had Bush/Clinton era's now for quite a few years and that if we put another Clinton in office it will be all of the same. I do not feel this way. I think Obama is the WRONG choice for many different reasons. Maybe in 4/8 years he would be the man for the job but with the way our country is right now I do not believe him to be.

Misery loves company. St Louis is the largest city in Missouri, and it borders IL. YOU PAY LESS FOR GAS, CIGS, HOUSING, as well as TAXS. I understand people that don't live around here voteing for the guy. People that really don't understand the problems with IL. If Missouri really wants the same thing happening there as whats happening here. I am all for it, misery loves company. But if your serious about changing this country for the best? You don't vote for someone just because of his color, you vote based on accomplishments. If you want what IL HAS. COME AND GET IT. The state is broke and he has done nothing to change it.

That is another thing I totally mis-understand I guess. People will vote for someone just because there skin color is the same as theirs. That is a big problem in my mind as when you only hear what you want to hear and see what you only want to see you are making a big mistake that this country will have to live with for the next four years. I say Clinton is the correct choice. I listen to what the candidates have to say. I do not vote or feel this because she is Bill's wife I think Hillary is her own person and can make her own decisions. Bottom line of this post is a statement made from Mike-From-IL. Do not vote based on the skin color vote on the real issues. Look at the past of all these candidates and make the best decision for all. Remember once its done its done no going back for a do - over.

Obviously more than just black people are voting for him. Why? I have no idea why. He is the same color as me and I can not stand him at all. Way to liberal. As for Clinton. The same. Who is left McCain? He may as well be a Liberal also. I think I will waste my vote and go for Snoopy. All we have are as useless as Mammary glands on a boar hog.

I listened to some of Obama's speaches. Where is the beef?? He is a great speaker, but no substance. People are caught up in emotion. The guy does not have the experience to be President. He preaches socialism, which should be a big concern, but fans are simply caught up in emotion.

Part of the problem is - he has college kids backing him who have NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE REAL WORLD. The only word they here is "Change" and they have NO IDEA what "change" could be brought about by Obama as Obama has not said what "Change" means to him either. There are just so many issues with Obama and living in Illinois we see them fast when there are problems. I have been saying this from day one and NEVER HAS COLOR or his religion been my problem IT IS ISSUES WITH ME, as everyone that has read any of my statements on Obama. It is as if the people see Obama and they are waiting for him to throw them a bone and they are all being taken in by his smooth talk.
I have listened to him talk and say what all he is going to do and remember when I tried to get him to help southern Illinois - he had no idea The Metro area included Illinois - this man is so stupid it scares me. He never could respond on any of the issues brought to him but he found my address asking for a donation -now that is what I call having no brains and having balls. He has Hollywood backing him and every knows they live in a make believe world - I am like the rest of the veterans and do not want everything that I have fought for be destroyed by an idiot who does not even know the functions of the Troops, nor how the foreign countries view the United Stated. I do not believe IRAN WILL LISTEN TO HIS SMOOTH TALK. I do hope the voters get smart in a hurry and will listen to what he is saying and check out his record, or we could be in trouble.

In His speech to the voters of Wisconsin He indicated He would stop price spiking. HOW IS HE GOING TO DO THAT IN A FREE MARKET? He won't it's lip service.

In 2007, the National Journal said that Obama had established himself as “the most liberal Senator.”

"Global Poverty Act" (S. 2433)
Obama's Socialist-Oriented Global Tax Bill a hugely expensive bill that is going to cost American's ~$845 Billion over and above what is already paid, if it passes. It's on hold for now, but will come to vote soon.
“The Global Poverty Act,” has just been rushed through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, with the assistance of Democratic Senator Joe Biden, the chairman, and Republican Senator Richard Lugar.
The major media's cover-up of the bill, demonstrates the media's desire to see Senator Obama elected to the presidency.
This legislation was introduced in December. Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) and Congressman Spencer Bachus (R-AL) sponsored the House version of the bill (H.R. 1302), which passed the House last September by voice vote.

His glib tongue just might get him elected. Between hatred of the Clintons and disdain for McCain for not being more conservative he has a pretty good chance. Like Seniorcitizen said, he`s targeting younger voters who have no experience, promising "pie in the sky" which will not ever happen. I`d love to see what his advisors have planned for after the election if he does win. Mike...He could freeze prices, it`s been done before, but he wouldn`t be able to do that for very long before he ran into trouble. His best hope is that we hate the others enough to ignore his faults.

George Soros convicted inside-trader, is manipulating campaign finance laws to benefit the far-left elements of the Democratic Party,
Obama’s success in the Democratic presidential primaries and caucuses is further evidence of Soros’s success.
Soros has financially contributed to the Obama campaign.
Chicago Democrat, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, has endorsed Obama. Schakowsky, endorsed Howard Dean for president in 2004. Her husband, Robert Creamer, emerged from federal prison in November 2006 after serving five months for financial crimes. He pleaded guilty to ripping off financial institutions while running a non-profit group. Before he was convicted but under indictment, Creamer was hired by the Soros-funded Open Society Policy Center to sabotage John Bolton’s nomination as Ambassador to the U.N.

In addition to writing a book, Creamer is back in business, running his firm, Strategic Consulting Group, and advertising himself as “a consultant to the campaigns to end the war in Iraq, pass universal health care, change America’s budget priorities and enact comprehensive immigration reform.” His clients have included the AFL-CIO and MoveOn.org. In fact, his client list is a virtual who’s who of the Democrat Party, organized labor, and Democrat Party constituency groups.
Creamer’s list of testimonials comes from such figures as Democrat Senators Dick Durbin (Ill.) and Sherrod Brown (Ohio), Harold Meyerson, MoveOn.org founder Wes Boyd, and David Axelrod, a “Democratic political consultant.”
Axelrod, of course, is much more than just a “Democratic political consultant.” He helped State Senator Barack Obama win his U.S. Senate seat in 2004 and currently serves as strategist and media advisor to Obama’s presidential campaign.

Well it's Election year, which is reality TV at it's finest, this year Hollywood seems to be getting in on the band wagon more so than previous years.

I Have to tell myself that They are telling me want they think I want to hear. They make promises, some are kept most are not. this time I am going to write down the promises that are made and see how many are kept.

I've been hearing a lot of talk between Hillary and Obama. I found it interesting that Ted Kennedy and JFKs daughter both endorse Obama, WHY?. Do the Kennedys dislike the Clintons that much? Nothing against obama.

I do agree with Hillary on the home foreclosing freeze. Something needs to be done to help American familys save their homes.
More and higher paying jobs is one solution.

What does Obama bring to the table that the others do not? What is his view?

I've heard him speak and he is extremely educated, and his ideas are good, but are they right?

I my self haven't made my choice, I'm sure as we move close to November, there will be all sorts of dirt come out in the wash.
Either way it will be a historical ending.

I voted for Hilary Clinton in the primary but I must point out the Barack Obama has the backing of not just college kids. He also has the support of college educated people and the upper middle class.
I don't know what part of Illinois seniorcitizen lives in but I live just across from St. Louis to the south and have seen Obama here and further to the south. The man is very well educated and knowlegable about the world. He is a Christian and as for as I can see a good caring family man.
That being said I'm not sure that he is ready just yet to be president.

My thinking right or wrong. Is if McCain takes a conservitive with him I am on board. If not I won't vote.

I find it hard to believe that people actually believe everything that comes out of Obama's mouth, with no proven track record.

Look the guy might be a great guy. He has done nothing to improve the quality of life here in IL. SOME OF HIS PROMISES, are impossible to keep. Thats why I pose the question.

I am not saying McCain is the saviour. But realisticly his plans sound better. I trust him on national security issues, and if he takes Romney that covers economic policy as far as I am concerned.JMO

Life of Riley - I live across from St. Louis and have NEVER SEEN OBAMA HERE nor received any answers to correspondence or answers to phone calls. I have sent him several letters when the storms went through asking for him to come to our aid here - HE DID NOT EVEN HAVE THE BALLS TO RESPOND - THIS WAS NOT DURING THE ELECTION SO HE CAN NOT USE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT AS AN EXCUSE. HE HAS DONE NOTHING FOR US. I contacted him on a Social Security issue - I might add not all of this was done just because I felt like writing him letters - I had people coming to me asking if I would help them since I have a computer and could address the issue for them. AGAIN I heard from Durbin, Costello and Hoffman - but NOT OBAMA. When he was (I called since I could get no response from him) contacted about the storm - I was told my his PERSONNEL THAT THE METRO AREA DID NOT INCLUDE ILLINOIS AS OBAMA HAD TOLD THEM THERE WAS NO DAMAGE IN ILLINOIS - SO DON'T TELL ME HOW SMART OBAMA IS - HE IS EITHER STUPID OR HE FAILED AMERICAN HISTORY or maybe he never had it. There were 4 issues - social security, Ameren, Insurance companies paying on storm damage, and identity theft from this area. I might add I have a place in Harrisburg Illinois and you say Obama and they say 'WHO' they had never heard of him. South of Chicago is NOT ILLINOIS and I am like Mike - misery loves company - vote for him and you will get a good taste of him. He has made his way to St. Charles, MO he probably thought he was in Illinois. I might add he did find my address to ask for a donation - too bad you can not send boogy

in the mail - he would have a pot full -
NAME ME ONE THING HE HAS DONE FOR SOUTHERN ILLINOIS - JUST ONE. He does not know we are here - his main concern is Oprah and the slum lords of Chicago.

Mike -

I feel your pain. I just moved across the river to MO from IL because my taxes were going up faster than my income. The governer of IL is a far left socialist who only got elected as a knee-jerk reaction to the previous crook, who is now in jail. If you live south of Springfield you can forget about being represented at all because everything is centered around Chicago.

I really wanted Obama to show me something to believe in. BUT NOTHING. I want a fresh start, but not with him. He has not gained one ounce of my faith in him as president. I really wish he would have. NOTHING...NOTTA...ZILCH. Heck I can do what he's doing, nothing.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Soros is a big supporter of Obama. Soros is a rotten dude, hell bent on the destruction of this country. Obama is one of the most leftist candidates to run for President in many years, and if his policies are enacted, it will destroy this country. He has gotten a free ride from the press, and that will not change. The only way to beat him is to open him up and expose him for what he really is. This will not be easy, and a major task for McCain. The media is given this man protection, and there are many skeletons in his closest.
