NATIVE AMERICANS SEEK CHANGES TO IMMIGRATION BILL — TO DEPORT MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS
Flexing their new-found political muscle, Native Americans — the only “true” Americans — have now weighed in on the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill, lobbying Congress to provide for the immediate deportation of all Mayflower descendants.

Speaking for the National Council of American Indians, Chief “Running Tab at Foxwoods” asserted that the Mayflower settlers “not only entered this country illegally, without visas or work permits, but behaved very badly –spreading disease, raping our women, despoiling the land, and worst of all, stealing our very identity for their sports teams.”

While most tribes oppose any type of amnesty, some have supported a limited trail to citizenship, requiring the Mayflower descendants to pay a fine consisting of their scalps, and the return of the Great Plains.

Other tribes have proposed a “touchback provision,” requiring the illegal squatters to return to the 17th Century, for four centuries, before applying to live here legally in the present.

Some Native Americans would also grant favorable treatment to those who have high-tech skills, such as converting corn to ethanol.

This proposal has predictably drawn a huge outcry from the WASPS, who claim that they’re merely doing the jobs that Native Americans refuse to do, such as running investment banks and hedge funds.

In addition, although genealogy records reflect that his ancestors arrived not on Plymouth Rock but on Ellis Island, the Indian tribes have also insisted on the unconditional and immediate deportation of Jack Abramoff.

Try finding anyone who has family that have been here for 100 to 200 years who does not have native Indian blood flowing in their veins.

Amom,Because a person has highcheek bones DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE NATIVE AMERICAN,People from france, italy , And several northern european countrys also had highcheek bones..Alot of people claim it few people can prove it..This particular blog was created by a native at standing rock indian rez in south dakota..being native or claiming to be part has become popular today when I was growing up it was not popular but because the country has grown from under 200,000,000 since I was a kid to almost 300,000,000 more and more people are claiming to have some sort of native in there blood but they don't know what kind or anything about natives thats why the web sight was included there are rolls so if you or somebody you know has native blood and not french or italian there are ways to find out but not everyone was related to john ross...

American politics has swept the horrable acts of genicide of the native americans for too long. American where not the first to do this, but had no problem taking over and seing it through. There is no pride in genicide. A shamefull part of american history. Flip side of the coin; We cannot undo what has been done. Dead is dead and the land is either developed or poluted. The people resposable are also long dead. There is certainly no easy resilution to this situation.

As stephan stated..What has been done, cannot be undone..We can only make the present and future better by understanding what has gone before, and not repeating it..

I only put this blog in as to show how native people in the west feel St Louis does not have a large native population in it. MO as a state in 1870 passed a law banning natives from occupying land people that were thought to be indian were taken from there homes at gun point..Illinois was differant they actully had indian schools in rockford,peoria,kankakee..Mostly for sioux and chippawa,winnabago,And other great lake tribes..But there are alot of views concerning immigration and I wanted to share this one..For people interested in native opinion there is a web site indianz.com that has native news and blogs and so forth..

Blue law maybe...I remember studying something like that in law school...as one of my clients at one point was a native, facing similar problems, but that was in Oregon, and he had some problems dealing with reservation/nat'l park crap...

Anyway, I always keep my bumper sticker shined up:

Well, knowing that aboriginal groups from Asia settled north Ammerica and migrated south, and also now known Aboriginal groups from Australia hit South America and migrated north creates a problem.
The older group in the south ran into the group from the north, and were battled south to extinction. 10 years ago, there were only 2 women who were known to be descendants of that older group from Australia.
I don't know if they are gone now or not. But, doesn't that give them grounds to kick everyone else off both continents and sue the Asian descended north group, or Indians, for reparations? Of course, their descendants were also "BOOGEDY". yuk yuk.

natives from from other south pacific islands like fiji ect.... found south america and hawaii thousands of years ago and do not forget egyptians, they did as well(no pyramid conspiracies just they found cocain in the mummies remains and it only grew in south america at that time). the americas where quite the melting pot for thousands of year. Tribes all throughout history on every continent before countries where formed battled. But mass genicide happend only a limited number of times. I am sure most of you remember a little from history class and maybe a few more like myself watch enough documenteries from archialogists and using modern high tech equipment and recent discoveries to paint a clearer picture of what realy happened in history world wide.

My father's family came here since 1638 from England. My greatgrandmother was Native American(Wea tribe), so my grandfather was 1/2 Native American, which makes my father 1/4 Native American, and me 1/8 Native American.
We have copies of the birth, marriage, and death records to prove it.
My mother is half Irish and half French.
Yeah........I'm cool.

the native americans should be gratewfull for our arrival-they were killing each other of at alarming rates, committing acts of violence against each other that made us look like choirboys by comparrison.this country was settled by eoropeans by Gods designed. we should kick out all the illegal immigrants and replace them with legal ones

There's a saying...."History is written by the victors". Don't believe everything you read in History books. For one, George Custer was a coward who attacked Indian villages while the braves were away.....he slaughtered women, children, and old people.

I do not mean to offend you if I do, but....
Did they not teach history other than american history at the schools you attended. Europe, bfore haveing countries had tribes. The Germanic tribe ruled the european continent. Later creating countries like Germany, Sweden, Austria, Netherlands and several others. Ever heard of the vikings! how about the roman empire and what they did?!?!? I will stop there, pick up a history book. tribes in africa and the middle east still fight today and they are not wiped out(thousands of years later). We have no buisness getting involved. Like our couple hundred year old country has the answer to problem plaqueing man since we walked the earth. How self centered is that! Lets just take care of our country, our states, our cities, our towns and our families. Thank god I take care of mine and resent anyone that butts their nose in my buisness, because they will loose it!

stephan-you r dancing arround the issue or subject of kicking us euoropean decendants because we settled here illegally.they did not have any system of laws here 2 regulate immigration. you need to get your liberal mind fixed by listening to rush limbaugh at least 3 to 5 times a week.it will correct the problem of leaning on your emotions instead of the facts for your diatribes.God's purpose was for us to bring christianity to this country. it is our manifest destiny-mike meyer

Thanks for reminding us of our history. We should remember the good, bad and ugly so that we can learn from our ancestor's mistakes. What I remember about native Americans is how they took care of the land. We need to keep working at this .
