I would definately consider myself a foodie.  I love trying new restaurants, cooking up new recipes, watching the FOOD Network - anything that deals with food.  My real passion is baking.  I'm always in the kitchen baking up a storm.  And by the time I am done it really does look like a tornado blew through our kitchen with flour and measuring tools everywhere.  My family complains that I'm going to make them gain weight because of all of the goodies sitting around.  I think they should consider themselves lucky, and satisfied.  I hope to somehow involve food and cooking into my future career.

Have you ever had any major mishaps or successes in the kitchen?

I love the Food Network too, but the kitchen doesn't like me so much. I once burnt eggs which made the house smell really bad. But I can follow a brownie mix box recipe like a pro lol.

Rosie - Paula Deen is one of my favorites. She does have some great recipes and she's always cracking me up with her nutty personality.

I like to pretend I'm good in the kitchen too and most of the time my kids appease me. LOL! LJ, Have you tried Margie's caramel rolls recipe yet? At least I think it was hers. I haven't yet but one of my co-workers did and brought them to work. All I could say was...YUM!!!

I love to cook and will try just about any receipe once (never make Winona Judd's mac n cheese, yucky). My worst experiences in the kitchen always seemed to happen when I allowed a man to cook or help cook. One put garlic on my scrambled eggs . . . GAG. Another turned my tri-tip into charcoal and ruined quite a few porterhouse steaks.

The center just auctioned off one of my dinners for $100 . . . so sure hope I can live up to it, lol.

jen, paula drives me nuts when she eats off the big old mixing spoon though... shes a rush... but yeah most of her recipes are easily done and with ingrediants that are easily found or already on hand

I cook alot! It's more because I have to, not so much because I enjoy it. Jeff is so picky, I can't cook with onions, celery, peppers or anything really good, unless I divide things up and make him his own "Jeff friendly" version. So, with 4 kids and so much going on, I just keep it simple and use spices to make things tasty.

I don't even remember the last meatloaf I made! What's the point if I can't put anything good in it!

Cooking school and a chef aprenticeship was one of many things I did for the experiance. I love to cook and from scratch. I like to experiment with recipes in food fusions from cultural dishes. I try to cook for 2 but I usually end up with enough to feed a large family.

I am a senior at Lindenwood anticipating my introduction into the "real world" this May. After switching majors every semester I have created my own via a contract degree. It's called Written and Visual Communications which is basically a fancy way of saying journalism with a little bit of art thrown in the mix. I recently finished an internship with Sauce Magazine which was awesome! Some of my passions include writing, beach lounging, working on my fitness and baking. I just got a snowboard for Christmas so if anyone has tips for an amateur, bring 'em on.
