Here is a behind the scenes sneak-peek of us preparing to go out and interview the public on Friday about the highway shutdown.  As you will probably be able to tell (especially with Danno’s fine camera skills) that we do not fool around.  Just kidding - we know how to have fun on the job!  Here is what Chelsea and I were thinking.  Lights, camera, action...

It seems that you are trying to do what Fox 2 et al are already doing....repeat.

You should ask if there are any bonus incentives to finish this job early and why can't they work 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. With the interstate completely shut down there is no excuse not to be there all the time and do shiftwork.

Welcome to blogging!

Hey Lindenwood, did you see my video about the highway 40 shutdown? I told Dan to contact Metro so that he doesn't get himself into trouble. Remind him. Since I know that you are out there doing a project on the highway 40 shutdown. Now, SCAT will allow you to take pictures on their buses. Also from St. Charles, Call-a-Ride will also pick you up at the new Chesterfield Mall Park 'n' Ride lot.

You also might have noticed my other screen name on YouTube. On YouTube, it's Streetcar1743 because of one of the streetcars that crossed highway 40 on Grand Avenue.

Oh jeez, Jen. Last thing I want to hear in the morning is my own voice.

Hey, Vacuum! Yeah, we checked out you video. Interesting. I don't know what you mean by getting into trouble by not contacting Metro, though. Can you explain that to me?

Well there is a no-camera policy and really as a service ambassador, I am really not allowed to even mention much about it due to security reasons. The no-camera policy is system wide but the details, Metro wants to keep top secret. The reason why is terrorism. I knwo the policy sounds pretty stupid, and the rules I have to by about it seems pretty stupid, but I have to abide by the rules of Metro.

Now I will tell you why I picked Streetcar1743 because that was one of the last streetcars that was purchased by the St. Louis Public Service Company in 1946. Just about a year before traffic returned to highway 40. The streetcar itself lives at the Museum of Transport which is located in the western portion of Kirkwood.

I am a senior at Lindenwood anticipating my introduction into the "real world" this May. After switching majors every semester I have created my own via a contract degree. It's called Written and Visual Communications which is basically a fancy way of saying journalism with a little bit of art thrown in the mix. I recently finished an internship with Sauce Magazine which was awesome! Some of my passions include writing, beach lounging, working on my fitness and baking. I just got a snowboard for Christmas so if anyone has tips for an amateur, bring 'em on.
